The Toyota Aristo is one of the best all-around sports sedans ever built. Outperforming its German counterparts of the same era, the Aristo is a serious sports sedan. Underneath its skin, the Aristo is essentially a Toyota Supra (JZA80) as all of the suspension components are shared between the two vehicles. So it's easy to see why it performs so well, especially considering the two cars also have the same legendary 2JZ-GTE drive train. The difference is that you can daily drive this one without having every fanboy stop to bug you at every gas station. Plus, while we all love a proper sports car, not everyone wants to deal with driving one to work every day. The Aristo takes the best of both worlds with its well-appointed interior, readily available parts, and slaps two turbos on it. The Opal White Pearl (046) paint makes for a classic look with its light pearl essence that really pops out in the sunlight. It's a shame that the photo booth really doesn't do the color justice. With only 20K verified miles it should come as no surprise that the paint and body are both in fantastic shape. While there are still a few small scratches and door dings its overall in remarkable shape. The entire car has been left all OEM which is refreshing to find in this day and age with so many being modified in one way or another.

The executive sand cloth compliments the Pearl bodywork well and has been exceptionally well maintained. The two-tone sand and brown interior is a staple for white sedans of the time as it exudes elegance. Typically we expect to see some bolster wear on the driver's seat or some wear on the steering wheel over the years but this one is in surprisingly good shape. All four seats have been kept stain and tear-free which is impressive considering how light the coloring is. The same can be said about the carpeting and door panels. Even the original floor mats are still in well above average condition. Being a proper luxury sedan these came fitted with all the bells and whistles of the time, and all of which are functioning as expected. Toyota really has set the benchmark for long term quality and reliability. Just look at how many LS400s are still on the roads today. Things like cruise control and a driver's airbag were hard to find at this time in Japan yet both were equipped. Other powered options like power-folding mirrors, door locks, windows, both front seats, and automatic climate control were standard and leaps ahead of typical US cars of the day. Both the climate control and factory radio are well laid out making them easy to use while driving.

Naturally, everyone's favorite part of the Aristo is the twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE. Famed for both reliability and its ability to make huge horsepower numbers, there's no wonder why. Mechanically the bulletproof twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE is in excellent condition. It fires to life quickly and is frankly very quiet. The average person will have no idea what's really under the hood making them the true definition of a sleeper. Boost comes on strong and pulls hard throughout the RPM range. These aren't drag racing monsters, but more highway rocketships. Once the power comes on it feels like its never going to stop. Shifts are smooth through the automatic transmission and surprisingly quick. Naturally, Toyota made sure to send the power to the correct set of wheels and it was even optioned out with the particularly rare factory Torsen LSD. While the Aristo was never offered with a manual option there are plenty of swaps available if you really wanted to go that route. With a car this luxurious and in such phenomenal condition its probably not the ideal candidate for a build, but we could get behind it. The stock suspension makes the best of any road and really turns this into a car that you could easily chew up the highway in. Our techs go over each vehicle upon arrival to ensure they're in good mechanical shape. This one needed little in the shop, which is no real surprise. Fitted with a new battery and tires all around we've also performed an oil change and fixed a bad window regulator. Whether you're looking for a luxurious daily driver for your morning commute or the ultimate in sleeper sedans, the Aristo can do it all. Don't miss out on an opportunity for one of the cleanest examples we've seen of Toyota's four-door Supra.
