The UCF21 Celsior's are now legal stateside, and all we have to say is thank goodness. An evolution of the original design, the new for 1994 models were lighter, more powerful, and had way more features. This 1995 example is finished in a classic Gray/Charcoal (6110) two-tone; the body is in good shape other than the normal dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with only 31K verified miles, this type C sports air suspension, rear reclining rear seats, and plenty of recent maintenance making it an ideal luxury sedan to own.

Enter the cockpit and you are surrounded by plenty of soft-touch surfaces and premium materials. Gray executive cloth was chosen for this example and the front and rear seats are both in great shape. Lacking any major rips, stains, or tears, the material is still soft and they are very comfortable on long cruises. The front occupants benefit from a slate of power accessories including digital climate and power seats. Power folding mirrors, keyless entry, and one-touch windows work as they should and are standard equipment. An adjustable tilting and telescoping column is great for drivers of all sizes and dual SRS airbags are included. Cupholders are available in both rows and your shoulder, leg, and headroom is expansive regardless of where you are seated. The dash is in good shape and lacks any holes or distortion. The headliner and door cards are clean and properly upholstered and the carpets have been well cared for over the years. A set of factory plush carpet mats are included with the sale, as are the owner's manuals and books from Japan. Perhaps the most impressive interior feature is located in the back row. Within the large, folding rear center armrest are a handful of controls that set this Celsior apart from most. The F-Package gave rear passengers dual climate controls, reclining rear seats, and even a massage function. Both rear passengers also get seat heaters and audio controls but the latter portion arent useful as the audio system is not currently functioning. Best of all, the rear left passenger can depress a button that pulls the passenger front seat forward and tucks the headrest down providing a first-class chauffered motoring experience. If you require additional privacy, your driver will happily depress a dash-mounted switch to unfurl the privacy curtains. As you can tell, the interior is truly world-class and is built to withstand another 25 years of use.

The driveline utilized on second-generation Celciors is tried and true. The 1UZ-FE was improved, making more power and achieving greater efficiency. Benefitting from a fresh oil and filter service, she turns over with a twist of the key. Near silent in operation, the 4.0L mill churns to life and sounds great. Sending power to the rear wheels through a slick-shifting auto, the Celsior gets up to highways speeds seamlessly. The air suspension soaks up all the bumps and is height adjustable at the press of a button. The brakes bite down hard and the steering is light and easy to articulate. The factory alloy wheels are all flush with newer all-season rubber, able to handle the wet and dry without issue.

For true enthusiasts, this Celsior represents the pinnacle of luxury. Boasting low cost of ownership, and incredible ride, and offering all the comfort you'll ever need, its no wonder this UCF21 is a certified Japanese Classic.
