Nissan definitely made huge strides in the design changes from the R32 to the R33 models, and this is a fine example of the model's evolution. The new Skyline became more refined, larger, and was produced with significantly better fit and finish. Produced in a stellar Super Black (KH3), the body is in good shape aside from some normal dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 43k verified and documented miles, this recently serviced and legally imported coupe would make for a sublime daily driver or weekend cruiser.

Inside the cabin of this R33, you will find the interior largely as Nissan left it. An adjustable steering column is standard and allows for drivers of all sizes to get comfortable. The low-lying dash offers an unobstructed view of the road ahead, although we did want to note that the dash is cracked and that the head unit is no longer operational. Standard power amenities include electric windows, locks, and mirrors, and an easy-to-operate digital climate control system. The A/C still blows cold which is what you'd want to hear during the Summer when you own a big black car. The power-folding mirrors are inoperable, unfortunately, but can easily be folded by hand. The Grey cloth interior shows well at this point and the material is still soft to the touch. The seating surfaces lack any major imperfections such as rips, stains, or tears. The rear seats look like they have hardly been used which is common on these coupes. Long journeys can be had in comfort and the headroom and legroom are larger than the outgoing R32 this vehicle replaced. The door cards are intact but there is some heat damage that caused some ripples on the passenger side door near the window that we wanted to note as well. The headliner and carpets are in fine shape and have withstood the last quarter-century without major abuse. Even the glovebox includes the original owners manuals which we wanted to include for the next owner.

The R33 has a more substantial feel which includes improvements to the driveline and chassis. The platform is more rigid and composed which lends itself to fewer squeaks and rattles. Underneath the bonnet lies a torquey RB25DE motor that breathes easy thanks to a new engine air filter. It fires up quickly thanks to a new 12v battery and is fresh off an oil and filter service. Even though it does not come with the turbo, the 2.5L still has great power and returns decent fuel economy. An automatic gearbox sends power to the rear wheels and shifts seamlessly. Acceleration is peppy and the R33 gets up to highway speeds without breaking a sweat. The factory suspension is compliant for daily use and the brakes feel confident when they are put into service. The 15" Volk Racing mesh wheels add a sporty touch and are wrapped in new all-season tires. These will deliver premium grip for tens of thousands of miles to come and quiet the ride down nicely.

*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB complaint first. CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
