When it comes to Skyline's the R32 will always be a favorite among enthusiasts. With its legendary styling, lively drive train, and rewarding drive, there's no doubt about why. Our most recent '93 Series 2 Type-M has been kept largely all stock with the exception of a few nice GTR tweaks. Everyone loves the big brother GTR, however, not everyone wants to deal with the added entry price and upkeep of the RB26. So why not take some of its trademark items like the aluminum hood, grille, and signature wing to give you the best of both worlds. Without a doubt, Gun Gray Metallic (KH2) is one of the most instantly recognizable colors for the R32. The finish on it looks great barring a few typical stone chips and routine little blemishes in the clear. The body sits in the same condition with only a few typical door dings from its 113K verified miles spent in Japan.

The interior of the R32 is a bit no-frills, but does have several convenient power options and creature comforts. Compared to the sedan, the pilot has a more centralized driving position and actually more room for those of us over 6'. The gray cloth seats are soft to the touch, and the front passengers are provided plenty of support for longer drives. Except for some light staining on the driver's seat, no major rips or tears are to be noted on the upholstery. The gray cloth seats are soft to the touch, and the front passengers are provided plenty of support for longer drives. Except for light bolster wear on the driver's seat, no major rips, tears, and stains are to be noted on the upholstery. One of the biggest points to boast about on this one is the fact the dash hardly has any signs of the dreaded dash bubble. It's also worth noting that the stock steering wheel is in fantastic shape. Normally those are one of the telltale signs that these aren't showroom-new vehicles. Power mirrors, locks, and windows are all functional creature comforts that can be utilized for your morning commute. A digital climate control system was also standard for the days when you don't want to roll around with the windows down. It's obvious that the head unit was pulled before it left Japan, but luckily they don't have much use here stateside so most everyone plans to replace them anyway. Naturally, we weren't able to check the condition of the speakers because of that.

The engine bay looks great filled with the iconic RB20DET. Under the hood has been left generally stock, which inspires a bit of confidence that it's lived an easier life than it's raced out counterparts. So you can get some of the proper turbo noises you would expect to hear an A'PEXi intake was fitted. While it doesn't do a ton for performance it does let the turbo sing its song. The only other addition is an Invidia Catback exhaust which gives the RB its proper deep growl. In stock trim they are a bit anemic sounding, so the catback is a welcomed upgrade. With the quick twist of the key, the RB fires right up and settles into a nearly vibration-free idle thanks to its straight 6 architecture. Power comes on quickly as the turbo spools and pulls heartily to redline. The 5-speed shifts easily without any hitch or grinds making it a blast to row through the gears. As with all of our vehicles it has been thoroughly inspected and serviced by our trained technicians. Of course, we always do a routine oil change but it's also got four fresh tires, replacement HICAS arms, new front upper control arms, along with a new rear main seal. Having several of the key items replaced this one is good to go for quite some time. The stock suspension does a great job of settling down the coupe and keeping you firmly planted when you pitch it into the twisties. As a daily driver, this subtle and unique Skyline is a true turn-key Japanese Classic that can finally put in your garage, and not as a poster.
