Nissan's most luxurious sedan of the 1990s, the President, is still impressive by today's standards. Reclining rear seats, cavernous interior volume, and a proper V8 make this a popular model among VIP enthusiasts and luxury aficionados. This 1994 example is finished in a Super Black (KH3), the body is in good shape other than some minor dings, scratches, and chips associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 46K Verified miles, this legally imported Japanese Classic would make an ideal daily driver, weekend cruiser, or starting point for a one-off show build.

The cabin is full of power equipment and premium appointments. For instance, an electric tilting and telescoping steering column and power front seats allow for drivers of all sizes to fit comfortably. Power folding mirrors, door locks, and windows work as they should and make daily driving much more enjoyable than downmarket JDM imports. The dash is in good nick, lacking any major imperfections such as cracks or weather relating distortion. The headliner is also in above average shape and is a good indicator this car was cared for. The digital climate is functional and the A/C, for now, blows cold although the interior will never get frigid on hot days to set the proper expectation. The passenger has a sizable glovebox for storage, and the trunk happens to be massive if a day trip is on the calendar. The rear passenger compartment is much more impressive than upfront. The center seatback folds down and reveals a console full of buttons. You can adjust climate controls and a bevy of other items from the comfort of the rear bench. Those include heated seats, which power recline, and a function that pulls forward the passenger front seat to give legroom akin to a limousine for the passenger behind it. These were used personal limos as evidenced by driver-controlled rear shades, which actually still work and a television set that was mounted between the front chairs. Although the audio/tv doesn't work currently it's still neat little bragging point. At almost thirty years of age the light-tan carpets and seats have picked up a few stains but there are no rips, holes, or tears to note. The material is still soft to the touch and the OEM mats are located in the trunk to prevent any further damage. A spare key is also included, which can be tough to find!

The mechanicals are simple by today's standards, but at the time were cutting edge. Powering the rear wheels through a smooth-shifting auto gearbox, Nissans VH45DE. At 4494cc, she makes plenty of power and torque to move this sled, and the engine benefits from a fresh oil and filter service. At the time, features like variable valve timing were all but nonexistent, yet Nissan implemented this type of tech for the president. The startup is instant, and the battery should be good for another four years or so, as we have just installed a new one. High-speed driving is particularly good, and the long wheelbase and soft suspension fully insulate the driver from the road. The brakes are confident and the power steering is light. The full-face factory wheels are all wrapped in new rubber for year-round grip.

Nissan designed one hell of a nice sedan with this President. The inexpensive entry price, low cost of ownership, and low miles make this four-door an incredible value and unique choice for those who want to own something a little different.
