Toyota's Land Cruiser is one of the most prominent names in the 4x4 game. It can pull dual duty on an off-road adventure or be used as a daily commuter to haul around the kids. This 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser VX Limited has plenty of power options inside the cabin and a reliable and rugged drivetrain beneath. Finished in a Dark Bluish Grey Metallic (183) and accented with an AIBA Works brushguard and some factory raingurads, the body is in good shape aside from a few minor dings, scuffs, and scratches associated with normal use. Boasting only 137k verified and documented miles, this recently serviced and legally imported hauler is a bonafide, turn-key, Japanese Classic.

The interior comes outfitted with power features and amenities that were uncommon in the 90s. An OEM Coolbox icemaker is found in the center console to keep your drinks cool while on the road and add some storage accommodations. The view of the road ahead is clear and the ride height is commanding in the 80 which gives you a view above traffic. The dash doesn't have any cracks or distortion to note which can afflict these trucks. An aftermarket Clarion radio has been installed in Japan and works just fine. The speaker quality is decent for its age, but we prefer the sweet song of the inline-six. A tilt steering column and cruise control are included and work as they should, making highway driving more comfortable. Other power equipment includes electric locks, windows, and power-folding mirrors that work like a charm. For a bit of fresh air, you have the benefit of retracting the power sunroof fully or you can tilt it up to allow some lighter airflow. If the weather does not permit an open sunroof option, OEM rain guards are equipped that allow you to open the windows without drenching the interior. Digital climate control is standard and we have recharged the a/c; it doesn't blow ice cold admittedly but helps a bit. Seats are wrapped in a grey cloth throughout the cabin. They are in good shape overall and lack any major rips, stains or tears aside from the driver side seat bolster which shows some wear from getting in and out of the vehicle. The door cards are in good condition and lack any major blemishes as do the headliner and carpets. Rear privacy tint keeps harmful UV rays out of the cabin and temps a touch cooler under the mid-day sun.

The 3F-E inline-6 powers this rig and is a smooth running mill if we have ever seen one. Fresh off an oil and filter service, she cranks over quickly into a near vibration-free idle with the aid of a new 12v battery. Connected to an automatic gearbox, this 80 features full-time 4WD. It does have a low gear set available and a center locking differential if the going gets tough, but most folks will likely only beat the pavement in this thing. Still, it's good to know your SUV has the stones to get you out of the muck if necessary. The gearbox shifts properly and the massive Land Cruiser can get up to US interstate speeds without causing any stress during the merge. Brakes are responsive and assuring when you need to slow this big truck down in a jiffy. Daily errands around town are surprisingly easy as this power steering equipped five-seater is maneuverable in the city. The stock suspension has no issues with ground clearance and can handle the rigors daily abuse. The gunmetal wheels are all wrapped in new Falken all-terrain tires. These look great, will last for tens of thousands of miles to come, and deliver premium year-round grip.
