The Mitsubishi Pajero is, in our opinion, perhaps the best bang for your buck when shopping 90's Japanese SUVs. If you're looking for an affordable diesel-powered import with reliability that rivals Toyota, the Pajero is it! This 1992 XR-1 model is in excellent condition and boasts a mere 37k verified and documented miles. A reliable turbo diesel engine and tidy exterior size make it perfect for city use while maintaining its world-class off-road ability. The exterior is finished in Mitsubishi's stately Summit White (W09) / Hamilton Silver (A71) two-tone and is in great condition, showing only minor scuffs and dings from normal use. Upgraded with an aftermarket brushguard, skidplate, rear ladder, wheels, and OEM spare tire cover reminiscent of a G Wagon, this SUV looks the business. Fresh off a recent service this reliable Mitsubishi SUV is ready to be a loyal companion to its next lucky owner and is a certified Japanese Classic.

The interior really shines and provides way more room and cargo space than you might expect. Accented with a classy wood grain trim throughout the interior, the cabin is clean and well kept. The dash is in great shape and is free of any cracks or other issues. The seats are trimmed in a soft gray cloth and are all in excellent condition with minimal wear. The rear seats fold forward to create a large cargo area when needed. The door panels are in equally good condition and show only light wear from normal use. The carpets and headliner are both clean, and free of rips or major staining. The digital automatic climate control works properly and is located within arms reach of the driver or passenger. It provides cold A/C and hot heat to suit the occupant's needs. Below the factory radio is present but is no longer functional. It's a minor issue, and you'll likely want to upgrade that to something more modern anyway. Below the radio are a snazzy set of RalliArt optional gauges which include a voltmeter, oil temp, and boost gauge. They all work however the oil temperature sender needs replacement. Atop the dash is the standard gauge suite which includes an altimeter, inclinometer, digital compass, and thermometer. However, the digital compass and thermometer are no longer functioning. A woodgrain Momo shift knob goes well with the other wood trim and a Renoma woodgrain steering wheel shows some wear to the leather but woodgrain suits the interior perfectly. The power windows and mirrors work properly but the power-folding function is no longer operable. Lastly, the factory sunroof provides additional fresh air in the cabin when desired and operates properly. It doesn't get much better than this well-optioned and tidy interior!

Powering the Pajero is Mitsubishi's workhorse 4D56 turbo-diesel 2.5L four-cylinder. Performance and off-road die-hards will love that it is attached to a manual 5-speed gearbox. Our trained technicians have performed some pricey maintenance as well including a new timing belt, water pump, and thermostat. Two new 12v batteries ensure plenty of power to get you started even in the coldest conditions. A new fuel filter keeps the diesel chugging along with no hiccups and a fresh oil and filter change allows for another 3,000 miles before the next service interval. Finally, four new tires give you all the traction you'll need for any weather or terrain you may encounter. The Pajero cruises happily along at highway speeds although it certainly won't be winning any drag races it merges on the highway just fine. The suspension is forgiving and easily soaks up the largest road imperfections with ease. The brakes are confident and slow this rig down safely. This excellently maintained Pajero just needs a new owner to enjoy it, and save some money over its Toyota counterparts!
