Being behind the wheel of Nissan's Fairlady Z (Z32) can feel more like you're in a jet cockpit, rather than a car. The interior design was driver-centric and all of the controls were easily accessible. The exterior design is timeless, with its short decklid, long bonnet and muscular rear haunches. It has the power to back up the looks, too, and the drivetrain and world-class suspension design have created a cult-like following among performance enthusiasts. This 1992 example is finished in Nissan's beautiful Diamond Black Pearl (732). Best of all, we're offering this stunning Z with only 89k verified and documented miles. The exterior has been well maintained and lacks any major issues, only showing minor dings and rock chips. Enhanced by a set of rare period correct Veilside Marriott 17" wheels and updated OEM 99 Spec tail lights, the body has been left largely unmodified. Quite possibly the ultimate cruiser Nissan has ever built, and most definitely a certified Japanese Classic, you'll find yourself with a smile on your face driving this Z in the warm weather with the T-tops off for sure!
Inside the cockpit, its clear interior has been well kept over the years but there is some wear to high traffic areas like the driver's seat bolster, e-brake boot, and steering wheel to note. On the positive side, there are no major rips or tears in the seats and the fabric is still in nice shape overall. The dash is in great condition with only a small hairline crack by the defrost vents. The automatic digital climate control is located to the left of the gauge cluster and is easy to reach while driving, and provides cold A/C and hot heat to match the cabin your desired temperature. The door panels have escaped the last 25 years largely unscathed and show no rips or tears. The rear seats don't provide a ton of passenger room but do allow for additional stowage and room to recline the front seats; they are in great shape and likely rarely used. The previous owner removed the radio, which allows the next owner to pick a suitable headunit to their liking and all of the wiring is intact. Aside from the a broken driver's door vent we wanted to note, overall, the interior of this Fairlady is quite nice and tidy.
Powering this Z32 is the VG30DETT. One of the best engines Nissan designed in this era, and it is both powerful and reliable. Since the engine was also offered here, stateside parts are easy to obtain and your local Nissan dealer can work on it if you're not mechanically inclined. A new 12v battery starts up the engine quickly, and a fresh engine oil and filter change along with new engine air filters keep the engine happy. Power comes on quickly upon acceleration and shifts occur through the automatic gearbox while sending power to the rear wheels. Shifts are smooth and make for a hassle-free commute to work. The suspension is stiffer than a luxury car but handles well and adequately soaks up road imperfections. Our trained technicians replaced the rear HICAS ball joints to keep the rear suspension tight. They also mounted and balanced four brand new tires ensuring you'll have traction for years to come. We did want to note that this Z does have the typical valve cover leaks, which we chose to leave alone. Other than that, its really hard to nitpick about the driveline and powertrain otherwise.
