We just got in one of the nicest Celsiors we've seen to date. The exterior is finished in Toyota's fantastic Black Jade Pearl (6K4) which is an incredibly rich color. Depending on the lighting the color will shift from black to a deep forest green. The paint has been very well maintained over the years. There are some typical stone chips on the hood and a little bit of wear to the clear on the roof, however nothing out of the ordinary for it's age. There is also a hairline crack in the paint on the passenger rear bumper as well. Otherwise the body is in great shape and free of any major dents or dings. Then again with only 16K miles none of that comes as a surprise. According to the previous owner the original gauge cluster was replaced by the dealership in May of 2005 with just under 15K miles. Since then this Celsior has only seen another 1,500 miles.
The interior has been kept in just as great of shape as the exterior has. The leather seats are exceptionally plush with very minimal signs of use. The driver side bolster has a little bit of traditional wear from getting in and out but are free of any rips or tears. The passenger and rear seats appear to have hardly ever been used. Being a proper 90's luxury sedan all of the accessories are power. Memory seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, power folding mirrors, even the seat belt height adjustment. This one did come with the factory in dash navigation however the screen is blank. It appears to be working fundamentally, so there may be a way to correct the display. The full climate control works great and has ice cold A/C. The new gauge cluster appears to be working great as it's free of any dead pixels and lights up nice and bright. The rear windows have been tinted for privacy sake and really look good on the Black Jade.
Mechanically this Celsior is just as clean as the rest of the car. While not advised, you could eat off of the engine bay it's been kept so tidy. Along with the original books, service records have been kept through the first 12K miles. The 1UZ-FE fires right up and purrs beautifully. The automatic transmission is equally quiet; shifting in and out of gear without any hesitation or grinding. The V8 quickly gets you up to speed and makes for a phenomenal highway cruiser. Coupled with the adjustable air suspension these make the best out of any poorly maintained state road that you'll come across. The aftermarket for the Lexus LS is massive, which makes the Celsior a fantastic VIP chassis. Then again for those not looking to be part of the scene, these are undoubtedly a daily driver that you won't come across in the grocery store parking lot.
