The fifth generation Honda Civic debuted in September of 1991 and won Car of the Year in Japan at introduction. It was available in a number of configurations with the SiR being the most powerful. This specific EG6 SiR is the 139th production model built and from what we can tell, one of the first to be legally imported.
It’s an extremely clean example and the exterior is in excellent condition. The paint shines very nicely and is free of severe blemishes. The body follows suit with straight panels and no dents or dings. A mostly OEM appearance has been maintained with minor changes. The stock wheels have been replaced with 15” Weds Sport TC-005 wheels. The OEM front lip and side skirts have also been color matched for a cleaner appearance.
The interiors condition matches the exterior and has been kept in its original form. A factory optional GATHERS audio system is present as well. The seats and door panels show minimal wear and have no major rips or tears. The dash is free of cracks and very clean. All trim pieces are present and the carpet is in good shape.
The B16A1 engine starts right away and idles correctly. Acceleration feels appropriate and the VTEC engages correctly at 5,200 rpm. An Apexi intake and Fujitsubo 4-2-1 header provide a more aggressive exhaust note and mild increase in performance. Shifts through the 5 speed manual transmission are smooth and the clutch does not slip. The A/C is functioning correctly and blows cold. Currently this Civic has 71k original miles.
