1989 Nissan Skyline Type-M
This R32 coupe is the signature Skyline to have. With it's classics styling, durable drive train, and iconic rarity make it a real Japanese classic. The full Type-M Aero looks subtle, yet sporty, and hint that this Skyline was not the stripped down trim version. Finished in Dark Blue Pearl (TH1) makes it one of the rarest color options, not to mention one of the best looking. The paint shows well for it's age, and although not perfect, it shows better than most cars of its age. The color was redone at some point in the past 5 years, and because of that, the clear coat has an abundance of luster, and the pearl can be appreciated. The body itself is very straight and has been kept up well, free of any notable dents or dings.
The interior has been left mostly unchanged from the factory giving a very authentic feel. Even the original steering wheel, radio, and seats were retained which are typically the first things to be changed out. One of the most rare things to note about this one is the dash. Free of any cracks, there is a small bubble present, however it isn't nearly as pronounced as most we see. The seats have been kept up well, free of any tears or notable stains. The shifter trim does have some wear from use, but overall the interior is quite nice, and a Nismo knob sits atop it. All of the factory power accessories are working as they should; the windows, power mirrors with the folding function, and the automatic climate control. The carpets and door cards are in above average condition, and this car even includes a spare tire.
Popping the hood reveals Nissan's fantastic RB20DET. This 1989 model, with only 88K verfied miles, is only just getting broken in. The turbocharged two liter jolts to life when you turn the key. The ignition receives power from a newly installed 12V battery. The untouched engine bay is refreshing to find as most have been modified in some form over it's lifetime. Power comes on quickly as the turbo spools and pulls heartily to redline. The 5 speed shifts easily making it a blast to row through the gears. Power is send rearward with immediacy, and the vehicles accelerates with a broad, linear, power curve. A full maintenance overhaul has been taken care of including new front brakes, spark plugs, timing belt and water pump. This 32 makes all the right sounds, as the intake and exhaust have been replaced with aftermarket units from HKS. A catback keeps everything legal for those concerned about retaining the emissions equipment. Suspension is compliant, and it takes on speed bumps and pot holes confidently. Traction comes compliment of four new tires on all corners, and being all-season, can handle inclement weather just fine. Whether you're looking for a new project or simply a turn key driver's car you can't go wrong with this GTS-t!
