The R32 Nissan Skyline is a timeless design and this 1989 is a great low mileage example of this Japanese Classic. Powered by a stellar 2.0L turbocharged six-cylinder, the neutral rear-drive chassis drives like a modern car in many respects. Best of all, it lacks all the electronic gizmos and computers that ruin most modern cars, and get this, it even has a manual transmission. Analog and connected, our coupe is being offered with a mere 65k verified and documented miles. Finished in a classic Light Gray Metallic (TG0), the refreshed paint shows very well! This body is in good shape overall aside from some minor dings and chips associated with normal use, and the hood has been replaced previously with an OEM model. Also notable the windshield cowl has had a poor repair to it previously to fix a prior clogged drain. The only modification to the exterior is an excellent condition set of Colin Project corner lights which look great with the N1 style headlights and color. Legally imported and recently serviced, this Type M would be an ideal daily driver, weekend cruiser, or autocross superstar. Reliable, collectible, and most of all rewarding to drive, this 1989 is sure to put a smile on your face when you get behind the wheel.
The interior is in good shape for an R32. Sure it has the minor dash bush that afflicts most of them, but otherwise, it's quite nice. Power options include electric folding mirrors, locks, and windows. They all work as they should and make daily driving much easier. The gray cloth seats are supportive and still soft to the touch. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and have been cared for in a prior life. The headliner and door cards look good as well but the carpets do have some light stains to note. Aside from an aftermarket steering wheel, the interior is completely stock and true to Nissan's original design. The interior isn't perfect and we wanted to note that this coupe does have digital climate control, but currently the A/C doesn't blow cold, but all the other functions work as they should. The OEM audio does function but the original 1989 speakers are in poor condition at this stage of their life and replacement is recommended. We'd opt to keep the system shut off and listen to the growl of the inline-six anyhow.
While no thirty-year-old car is perfect, we understand that most clients want to be able to climb in the cockpit and take her out for a spin. With this in mind, our trained technicians have performed many pricey services to give the next owner a fantastic starting point post-sale. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the RB20DET has just received its most expensive preventative maintenance item. A new timing and water pump have been installed allowing the stateside owner to rest assured knowing that service need not be performed. A new 12v battery helps the 2.0L to turn over promptly and it sets into a near vibration-free idle. A new fuel filter and set of plugs allow for complete combustion of the gas before it is exhausted through a new ISR polished stainless catback. It sounds good to boot and when you mash the throttle this little Skyline can really move! Shifts occur seamlessly through the five-speed and are sent to the rear wheels. The original suspension was refurbished with some new front traction arms and upper control arms. The shocks are original but can handle the rigors of daily use and take large bumps with confidence. The brakes are equally assured and the power steering is nicely weighted and communicative. The OEM five-spoke alloys are all wrapped in new all-season tires at all four corners. They should last for tens of thousands of miles to come and have quieted down the ride noticeably.
