Honda's lineup of reliable and fun compact cars has paid dividends with the brand in the '80s and '90s. This attractive and useful 1993 Honda Civic hatchback checks all the boxes for a desirable compact as well as a top choice for modifying. The exterior is finished in a Granada Black Pearl (NH-503P) and is in great condition aside from some normal dings, scuffs, and chips. Notable repairs include a replaced right rear quarter panel, driver fender, and hood. All done professionally in Japan and fitment is spot on. Offered with a mere 81k verified and documented miles, this little Honda is just getting broken in. Recently serviced and legally imported this Japanese Classic is a practical and unique four-seater that would make for a wonderful commuter, platform to modify, or weekend cruiser.

Inside the cabin of this Civic, you will find it in well above average condition. The interior is finished in a light grey cloth revealing no major imperfections such as rips, stains, or tears on the seats.  They are comfortable on long cruises and offer plenty of support. The dash is in good nick and lacks any cracking or UV-related fading and distortion. The driver's side door card shows some wear near the window which is common. The window trim is not perfect with small imperfections due to cracking from age. Power Windows, power locks, and mirrors all operate in good working order. You can easily fit 4 people in the compact hatchback with plenty of leg and headroom for day trips or quick around-town errands. A/C blows ice cold as it should which will come in handy especially in the summer heat. Our techs discovered that the A/C compressor makes a whining noise when the AC compressor turns on, and while it is fully functional the compressor may need to be replaced in the future. The audio is also fully functional which still uses the OEM radio to power the speakers. In the glove box, you will find its original manufacturer's owner's manual from Honda which adds some originality. It's obvious the previous owner cared for this little Honda while it was in Japan.

The heart of this clean EG hatchback is a D15B VTEC four-banger mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. It fires up easily thanks to the new 12V battery and is fresh off an oil and filter service. A set of new spark plugs, distributor cap, and fuel filter to tidy up the powertrain and will give the next owner some breathing room to get to its next service in 5,000kms. The transmission shifts smoothly and the driver can run through the gears without a grind or a hitch. Acceleration is peppy thanks to the low curb weight and the lightweight design of the hatchback returns decent fuel economy as well. The brakes feel competent and the OEM suspension is able to handle the rigors of daily use. Four brand new tires have been installed and the OEM wheels balanced making this little Civic ready to begin its new life with the next owner! These iconic Civics are getting expensive and hard to find in both Japan and the USA. As a hallmark of the brand, they are reliable, long-lasting, and cost little to keep on the road. As a collectible Honda, it doesn't break the bank and is a bonafide Japanese Classic.
