We recently completed a 1,100 mile round-trip to Atlanta, GA for an event and this RX-7 did not miss a beat at any time. It’s a very clean example and drives almost how I’d imagine one would have driven off the showroom floor in 1992. It’s a low mileage example, but appears to have been driven regularly based on things like the Shaken (Japanese Inspection) which is not expired. I would have to imagine the previous owner took very good care of this car. Not only based on how it drives, but based on the fact it still has the factory owner’s manual, service records, and even items such as the owner’s manuals for various non-original components such as the coilovers.

This 1992 Efini RX-7 Type X(FD3S) is a very clean example and the nicest example we’ve seen so far. The vehicle has a mere 34k original miles and has been kept mostly original. Even the paint appears to be original and well looked after by the previous owner. The factory Montego Blue Mica (M8) paint shines very nicely and has no significant flaws. The body is also in good shape with no major dents or dings. A factory optional sunroof is present and no exterior modifications have been made.

The interior is also very nice and features an optional Bose “Acoustic Wave Audio System”. The seats and door panels are in good condition with no major rips or tears. The dash is clean and free of cracks. The interior of the FD3S is notorious for being fragile, but this one is in great shape, with all trim pieces present and free of major flaws. Overall the interior is very clean and stain free.

The 13B-REW engine starts right away, idles correctly, and accelerates without hesitation. The four-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly when transferring power to the rear wheels. (Yes, it is a factory automatic vehicle, however manual models in this condition are extremely difficult to find and a manual swap is a straight forward and relatively inexpensive process for the FD3S). The only modifications are a set of Tein “Flex Z” coilovers, GReddy 3” catback exhaust, and a Cusco front strut bar. All systems are functioning correctly and overall this RX-7 drives exceptionally well.
