Exterior Overview
For its final production cycle, the Nissan Silvia went out with a bang. It’s rare that a vehicle’s final generation is its best, but with a tighter chassis, revised interior, and tweaked drivetrain, this stylish S15 Spec R is hard to beat. Finished in Sparkling Silver, this Silvia boasts a pricey factory aero kit, which covers the front bumper, side skirts, rear spats, and a high-rise rear wing. 17″ RPF-1 wheels round off the aesthetic, and this Spec R succeeds in capturing the heart of the enthusiast without excessive aftermarket modification. Agile, refined, and easy to handle, the S15 makes for a perfect turn-key canyon carver, showstopping sport coupe, or even a delightful daily driver for the dedicated enthusiast. With 79k verified and documented miles on the clock, a clean history from Japan, and a comprehensive recent service performed here at the shop, we feel proud to put the Japanese Classics name on this remarkable Nissan!

Mechanical Overview
The Silvia’s award winning drivetrain recipe for driving enjoyment was figured out long before the S15 debuted, but the final version of this turbocharged, manual-transmission, rear drive layout definitely perfected it. Now boasting a close-ratio 6 speed manual and a few extra ponies from the SR20DET, this is the creme de a creme of S-Chassis drivelines. Best of all, we’ve serviced this potent 2 liter, and the engine cranks over swiftly, care of a new 12v battery. While it was up on the lift, one of our technicians replaced the fuel filter, and installed a new Greddy catback exhaust. Coupled with a Blitz intake, it brings out the SR’s growl quite nicely, and this spritely S15 gets up to highway speeds with haste. The transmission benefits from a clutch fluid exchange, and a new rear inner CV boot on the left side axle. The stock suspension cruises comfortably, and we bolstered this Silvia with new rear swaybar bushings and new strut top mounts. The undercarriage is squeaky clean, and should make wrenching on this S15 a dream. We’ve also tackled a labor intensive and pricey service, by rebuilding the steering rack. Bolstered with new seals, new fluid, inner and outer tie rods, boots, and bushings, the rebuilt rack makes the power steering light, direct, and made a fresh alignment a simple affair. The Enkeis are wrapped in all new rubber, and with the full list of maintenance performed, this rare S-chassis is turn-key and ready to show off!
