Exterior Overview
With unmatched capabilities, a refined ride, and an easy-to-service V6 driveline, this 2000 Land Cruiser Prado makes a ton of sense. The spacious cabin and numerous safety features make this an ideal sled for families on the go, and our Millennium Silver (K73) model is quite handsome, to boot. Set off by OEM rainguards, 17″ refinished WEDS Keeler alloys, clear tails, a hardshell spare tire cover, and a rare OEM front valence, this TX is quite the looker. Aside from a few dings, chips, and scuffs, the body is in good nick, and this 4×4 is fresh off a recent service, which includes a new timing belt and water pump. Comfortable, collectible, and cool, these trucks appeal to enthusiasts and adventurous types alike. Turn key and ready to rock, this affordable and luxurious 145k verified and documented mile Japanese Classic won’t stick around here too long!

Interior Overview
The cabin is in wonderful shape and includes a number of power amenities and upgrades to enjoy. The driver benefits from a clear view of the road ahead, and the tall ride height aids with outward visibility. Dual SRS airbags are standard for those riding up front, and the pilot can find the ideal driving position thanks to a tilt-adjustable steering column. The center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. A snazzy OEM TV/Radio belts out the tunes, and the automatic climate controls are located below. This Prado includes optional rear heat and A/C, which also works like a charm and keep occupants in their comfort zones. If natural ventilation is preferred, the side windows power down with the press of a button, and the rear quarter glass butterflies out. Power folding mirror and power locks function as they should, improving daily use. The blue and gray textured cloth upholstery is in above-average shape. It’s mirrored in the door cards, which have been cared for as well, and they lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The middle row can slide forward to accommodate larger cargo, and the rear jump seats can fold up into the D-Pillar tidily. The headliner is in good shape aside from some light scuffs, and the carpet has been kept clean save for some tiny stains. The owners’ manuals and maintenance booklets are still stowed safely in the glovebox, and this Prado even has a spare key! Obviously cared for in Japan, this eight-seat cabin was babied, and you can tell.

Mechanical Overview
Under the skin, this J95 is almost identical to an American 4Runner. That makes maintenance, repair, and modification about as easy as it gets. The 5VZ-FE under the hood is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life with the twist of the key thanks to a new 12V battery. A new fuel filter, engine air filter, and spark plugs were installed as part of our tune-up. For those looking to take an immediate road trip, one of our trained techs gave the 3.4L a heavy refresh. Good for the next ten years and 100k kilometers, a new timing belt and water pump service was performed. The radiator was on its last legs, so we exchanged it for a new one, swapped in a new thermostat, and flushed out all the coolant. The V6 feels fresh as a daisy as it sails up to highway speeds with ease. It also slows down confidently with standard ABS. Additionally, we have bolstered the brakes with new front pads and rotors. The suspension is soft and gobbles up potholes with confidence. New rear shocks deliver a refined feel, and we also replaced the rear upper control arms and front swaybar links. The power steering system was also refreshed. The steering rack was professionally rebuilt, and we added new boots and rack bushings for good measure. The inner and outer tie rods were replaced to make the alignment go smoothly, and grip is handled by four new 32″ Falken tires. The new rubber looks mean, reduces road noise, and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. An all-around good performer, its hard to knock the Prado, and we feel the new owner will think it drives like a dream.
