Exterior Overview

There’s a Skyline for everyone here at Japanese Classics. For family-oriented folks who can’t compromise on comfort and utility, you too can chase your dreams of owning a fun, sporty, R34 thanks to this 2.5 GT-X sedan! Practical as it may be, this 2000 Nissan doesn’t skimp on driving enthusiasm, as it boasts an RB25 powerplant, and a few useful modifications to get your ownership started off on the right foot. Finished in Cloud White (QM1) it’s a looker too, set off by full GTR-style FRP aero that spans the front and rear bumpers and side skirts. 18″ Enkei Raijin wheels are mated to a set of aftermarket coilovers, which give the chassis a slight drop and improve the aesthetics. Save for some prior paintwork and a few chips and dings, the cosmetics are in above average shape overall, and this saloon would look at home in the Cars & Coffee parking lot, or barreling down backroads. Best of all, the 72k miles on the clock are verified, documented, and do a lot to protect your investment in this Nissan. Nimble, stylish, and surprisingly practical, this Japanese Classic is a true jack of all trades!

Interior Overview

Compared to the R33 before it, the R34 received a substantial interior redesign and the quality, fit and finish, and amenities were improved tenfold. The seats are finished in a tidy patterned cloth and ours have resisted the past 25 years with nary a rip or stain. The driver’s door card is blemished beneath a patch, but the upholstery and the matching fabric in the door cards is in good shape overall. The dash is equipped with standard dual SRS airbags and the driver gains access to a tilt adjustable steering column mated to a leather-wrapped MOMO wheel. Optimal comfort can be achieved through a digital automatic climate control system, and cold A/C and hot heat are on standby for those in seasonal climates. About the only thing wrong with this specific interior is the OEM navigation display, which has given up the ghost. Replacing the factory audio is a Pioneer headunit, which offers MP3 compatibility to pump in your tunes. Additional power equipment includes power locks, and the side mirrors can electronically fold for squeezing into tight parking garages. The headliner is taut against the roof and the carpets beneath are protected by a set of tidy factory floor mats. Cared for overseas, and only succumbing to a cracked climate bezel, we feel the American buyer will be impressed with the interior!

Mechanical Overview

The RB25 is a prolific engine. Efficient, and easy to modify and maintain, it’s easy to see why enthusiasts flock to these punchy inline sixes when it comes to performance. This R34 was fully serviced here at our facility, and is ripe and ready to daily drive from day one. For starters, we tore down the front of the engine to perform a timing belt and water pump replacement. We flushed out all the old coolant, for good measure, and dropped in a new thermostat to button everything up. New accessory belts were installed, and we sealed everything up with new valve cover gaskets up top. Six new spark plugs give this 2.5 a bit of a tune up, and it benefits from an oil and filter service, as well as a new engine air filter and fuel filter. With the maintenance performed, it tackled its first road test like a champ. An automatic gearbox feeds power straight to the rear wheels and commands shifts effectively. The suspension benefits from a set of new aftermarket coilovers, which maintain a comfortable ride quality for those looking to shuttle passengers. We also installed new front upper control arms and front caster arms so it would ace state safety inspection. For fans of preventative maintenance, we’ve tackled a hefty drivetrain repair by rebuilding the steering rack with new seals. We threw everything together with new inner and outer tie rods, and replaced the rack boots and bushings for good measure. The steering is light and on point now, and this R34 can come to an abrupt halt thanks to new rear pads and rotors. Equipped with factory ABS, they work in conjunction with the new all season rubber to keep handling predictable. With the maintenance performed you’ll be dead set to track straight for miles and miles to come!
