For the 13 years we've been in business, we've been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Nissan's S15 Silvia, and this 1999 Spec R is one heck of a first arrival! Backed by a stroked SR20DET and a 6 speed manual gearbox, this S15 is chock full of top-dollar equipment and is finished in fresh coat of Nissan's White Pearl (WK0). Set off by full FRP aero, Ganador mirrors, a NISMO rear spoiler, and 18" Volk GT-C alloys, the exterior looks the part and pays homage to the golden era of Japanese tuning. Better yet, the 94k miles on the clock are verified and documented and do a lot to protect your investment in this Japanese Classic. Iconic, stylish, and undeniably fun to hoon about, what's not to like about this Spec R?

For the chassis' final iteration, Nissan pulled out all the stops redesigning the interior, and this S15's cockpit is leagues above its predecessor. Sport mesh seats contribute to the modern aesthetic, and the driver's bucket has been swapped for a more appropriate Recaro SR3. This performance coupe sports a MOMO steering wheel on a quick release hub, so only the passenger's airbag is functional. The dash is oriented in a cockpit-esque configuration and the center stack houses digital automatic climate control and upgraded Carrozzeria audio. The sound quality is far above average but we'd be willing to bet you'll be mostly tuned in to the turbo SR symphony under the bonnet. A Defi boost gauge is also mounted up to give you command over the turbo's vitals. As expected for a new-millenium touring coupe, power windows, locks, and mirrors work as advertised. We find the rear seat space comical in most Silvia's but fortunately the seatbacks do fold down for easy access into the boot, which has more than enough room for your groceries and luggage. The headliner is in great shape, and the carpets have been protected by some snazzy OEM carpet mats. Privacy tint keeps any prying eyes away from the cabin and your Yashio factory shift knob, and to preserve this S15's history, we retained a hefty stack of factory literature, receipts, and maintenance records!

It's no secret we've been a fan of Nissan's SR platform since the very beginning, just look at our SEMA award winning Datsun Roadster! These four bangers are easy to service, fun to drive, and take exceptionally well to aftermarket modification. The previous owner clearly spared no expense on this build and this SR's displacement has been bumped up to 2.1l care of a HKS stroker kit and oversized HKS pistons. Tomei Poncams were dropped in to aid top end power, and we've also given it a recent service here, where we dropped in a new 12v battery and changed the oil with fresh 15w40. We changed out the fuel pump and filter with new units and this S15 was ready for a rigorous road test to ensure the eager next owner can drive worry-free from day one! This SR20 has no shortage of auditory enhancements. An HKS intake feeds an aftermarket HKS GT-RS turbocharger, with a Greddy FMIC keeping the charged air cool. An aftermarket exhaust manifold goes straight into a HKS downpipe, SARD highflow cat, and a Blitz Nur Spec exhaust produces a delightful burble as you row through the six forward gears. Throwing power to the rear wheels, a Nismo clutch is direct and responsive and a NISMO 2 way differential is communicative should you choose to send this Silvia sideways. A SARD radiator keeps things cool, and an IMS ECU provides the brains of the operation. Tuned at 1.1 bar, this SR20 is far from overdone, and Blitz coilovers help this S15 get down in the twisties if needed. It's rare we've seen a modified S Chassis this composed, but the setup is easy to drive daily. The steering is light, the suspension is nicely dampened, and the ABS brakes engage as you'd expect. The last line of defense between you and the pavement, we've wrapped the Volks in fresh Falken rubber. Stylish, comfortable, and chock full of traction, they'll provide grip for tens of thousands of miles to come, unless you have a lead foot!
