There's no such thing as too much luxury, and when you stuff a prolific premium transporter with a potent turbocharged V6, you get an all around great Japanese Classic!

Exterior Overview

There’s no such thing as too much luxury, and when you stuff a prolific premium rear-drive transporter with a potent turbocharged V6, you get an all-around great Japanese Classic! Our first Y34 chassis Nissan, this 1999 Cedric, is quite the hauler. The classic proportions look good in White Pearl (QV3), with its all-stock exterior. Set off by OEM rainguards and factory xenon headlamps, the aesthetics are simple yet impactful, and save for a few minor paint imperfections this VIP sedan is in good shape overall. Better yet, the 34k miles on the clock are verified and documented, which is really impressive for any vehicle of this vintage. With more comfort, power, and amenities than generations that preceded it, the Y34 is quick to grow on you, and for good reason!

Interior Overview

The interior is plush and feels decidedly upmarket for a 25-year-old Nissan. Completely redesigned and reworked from the Y33 that preceded it, this Cedric sports a number of upgrades and power options to make daily driving a cinch, even in the 21st century. The light grey upholstery is in great shape throughout, and the cockpit is set off by a sweeping vinyl dash, which houses a multifunction display, OEM audio, and a full service digital automatic climate control system. Safety was prioritized, and in addition to increased structural stability, dual front and side SRS airbags are present to give you and your passengers some peace of mind. This Cedric VIP is also a comfortable place to be. Both front seats are power adjustable, and the rear bench reclines for any rear passengers seeking a true chauffeur’s experience. The driver also benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column and additional lumbar and height adjustments. The OEM audio is above average in quality, and the A/C and heat both work well. Power windows, locks, and electric folding side mirrors work at the push of a button, and overall if you can see past some sagging at the back of the headliner, this cabin should impress all the way around. We’ve even held on to the factory carpet mats, and plenty of owner’s manuals and maintenance literature to help you feel good about your purchase!

Mechanical Overview

Venturing into super sleeper territory, the turbocharged VQ30DET under the bonnet is bolstered by NEO VVL technology, making this 3.0T a riot on the road. Ours is also fresh off a recent service, getting the green light from our team of trained technicians, and a couple of great preventative maintenance items as well. We gave this aluminum V6 a bit of a tune up with new spark plugs, an engine air filter, and a fresh fuel filter. An oil and filter service was performed to keep the Cedric topped up on lubricant. A leaky rear main seal was addressed, and this super sedan is ready to crush its first stateside road trip! An automatic gearbox makes quick work of all this power, and power is thrown swiftly to the rear wheels. The stock suspension is soft yet compliant, and soaks up larger road imperfections with ease. We bolstered the ABS system with new pads and rotors up front, and the tires are chock full of tread and ready to do some duty stateside! A brand new model available to our Japanese Classic market, this Y34 is a special sedan indeed.
