Interior Overview
The interior is as premium as the Cygnus nameplate suggests, and is finished in a handsome tan leather. It doesn’t take much to realize this cockpit was well cared for in a prior life, as the upholstery is all tight and tidy and shows well apart from some expected wear on the driver’s bolster. The condition extends throughout the leather inserts on the door cards, all the way to the rear bench. The dash is clean too, and houses dual SRS airbags to ease any safety conscious passengers. The driver gains some extra pampering, as the steering column offers electronic tilt and telescoping adjustment. Making the cabin comfortable for all, an automatic climate control system is easy to operate, and lies adjacent to an upgraded Pioneer headunit, with Bluetooth functionality and a powered subwoofer to really get the tunes going! Both front and rear passengers have their choice of cold A/C or piping hot heat, and the audio quality is above average for being 25 years old. Plenty of additional power equipment is on hand to make your commute easy, too. Power windows, locks, and power mirrors all work like a charm, with the latter electronically folding if you need to squeeze into a tight parking spot. There’s even an expansive power moonroof to let in a view of the heavens above. The seating arrangements are versatile. Both driver and passenger benefit from power buckets, and the middle row reclines all the way for sleepy passengers. Overall it’s easy to see why the 100 series’ interior has earned such a stellar reputation. It’s spacious, capable, and about the most comfortable SUV we’ve been able to import thus far.

Mechanical Overview
Stateside shoppers rejoice, the 2UZ-FE under the hood is shared with domestic models like the Tundra and Land Cruiser, making servicing a walk in the park for any eager next owner. We’ve also given this one a hearty rehab here in the shop, delivering you a true turn key experience, and getting you on track for maintenance schedules for the road ahead. The V8 churns over swiftly, care of a new 12v battery, and a new engine air filter and fuel filter eliminate contaminants and help the V8 settle into a smooth idle. These 2UZ’s have a reputation for outliving their owners, and this 4.7L runs like a top, accelerating smoothly through the powerband and roaring through a one-off 90-degree dual-side exit exhaust. Shifts are sent through an automatic gearbox into Toyota’s legendary full-time 4×4 system. We installed a new gasket on the transmission pan for good measure, so you don’t leak any fluid. Factory height adjustable suspension is comfortable and easy to tailor to your needs, and to shore up the drivetrain, we installed new rear upper control arms and new front and rear swaybar links to help this Cygnus pass state safety inspection with flying colors. The power steering was also refreshed with new rack bushings to eliminate slop. The ABS brakes are nitrogen assisted and bite hard, and work in tandem with the fresh Falken rubber we installed on all four corners to deliver some impressive stopping power. The tires not only look mean, but are primed and ready to tackle whatever terrain you throw at this lovely Cygnus!
