Exterior Overview
It’s hard to not be enamored with this 1999 Hilux Surf. It’s covered in rare parts, features the top-tier intercooled diesel powerplant, and is fresh off a recent service. This Millenium Silver (1C0) SSR-G example is turn key and ready to roll, and offered with a mere 114k verified and documented miles on the clock. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs the paint is in good nick, and this KZN185 is set off by an OEM spare tire cover and swingarm, factory rain guards, refinished OEM alloys, OEM spoiler, and aggressive sport hood. Perfect for shuttling the kids to school, weekends exploring, or as a dedicated overlander, this reliable and practical chassis does just about everything well. Inexpensive to operate, safe, and collectible, these cool little Japanese Classics are rewarding to own and is our best selling platform for a reason!

Interior Overview
The cabin is simply laid out and includes some nice equipment. For starters, we installed an American radio, which is Bluetooth-compliant. The BOSS unit sounds great and delivers a more modern cabin aesthetic. Another neat factory option is the automatic power rear under mirror. When the pilot selects reverse, it drops down from under the spoiler and gives the driver a view of the rear bumper, which can save you from filing an insurance claim! The driver is greeted by a classic MoMo wood grain steering wheel mounted atop an adjustable steering column. Above a large power sunroof allows plenty of daylight to the cabin, making it feel more spacious. Both front occupants benefit from dual SRS airbags and the driver seat includes adjustable lumbar support. The center stack includes an updated digital automatic climate control unit. Initiative to use, the A/C is cold as ice and the heat is functional for the long winter ahead. For those who prefer more natural ventilation, the side and rear windows power down for added airflow. Power locks and mirrors also work like a charm, making daily use more enjoyable. The seats are trimmed in a durable tan cloth. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and the same material is mirrored in the door cards. The rear seats 4-way recline and also fold flat into the floor to accommodate larger cargo. The headliner and carpets have withstood the past quarter century without sustaining major abuse, and as a whole, it’s clear this car was taken care of in a prior life. That’s not to say the cabin is perfect as we wanted to note there is also a tiny hole in the driver’s seat bottom, the sunroof no longer power retracts, and the dash is distorted by the base of the windshield, although it can’t be easily seen. Still, this is minor stuff at the end of the day, and the new owner will surely like the interior condition compared to our worn-out slate of American 4Runners this competes against.
