An all-around decent performer, it's hard to find fault with the Toyota Altezza. Handsome, safe, practical, and fun, this 1998 is a lovely example finished in a classic Super White (040). Aside from a few light dings and scratches, the paint is in good nick and the athletic styling as accentuated by 17" Eco Forme alloys, privacy tint, a TRD sport grille, and OEM rainguards. Fresh off a recent service, this rear driver is turn-key ready to rock and offered with a mere 99k verified and documented miles on the clock. Featuring a communicative chassis, fire-breathing BEAMS four-cylinder, and a well-appointed cabin, this SXE10 would be a great daily driver, reliable commuter, or fun weekend toy. Japanese Classics like this tick too many boxes to turn down, and this wonderful sedan won't stay around here long!

The cabin looks much more modern than our average import, and the folks at Toyota nailed the design. Less lavish than our US IS300, this interior is a tad more sporty. The dashboard is highlighted by horizontal strakes and the gauge cluster is as unique as they come and feels a bit upmarket. Dual SRS airbags are standard and the dashboard lacks any cracking or fading. The center stack houses the simple to use automatic climate controls, and below is a functional Pioneer radio upgrade. Heat and cold A/C flow through the cabin and if you prefer more natural ventilation, power windows are standard. The driver also benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column and power folding mirrors, and power locks, These all work properly making daily use more enjoyable. The seats are in above average shape and are upholstered in a gray cloth. They lack any major rips, stains or tears and are highly supportive. The headliner and door cards are in equally good nick and the carpets are protected by some factory carpet mats which are included with the purchase. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as we wanted to note a slight misalignment of the glovebox and some wear on the steering wheel. On the positive side, it even has the original owners manual included, and the factory keyless entry works like a charm!

This capable chassis features agile handling thanks to its 50/50 weight distribution. The engine is a gem as well, the 3S-GE BEAMS Blacktop. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the four-banger churns to life care of a new 12v battery. The mill benefits from a new engine air filter and new fuel filter, and one of our trained techs also replaced the fuel pump. With the 3 running right as rain we focused our attention to the rest of the driveline. The five speed automatic gearbox is stout and sturdy, and it makes good use of the mid range power the engine provides. We did address a leak at the transmission pan by replacing the gasket, and this gearbox can now handle the rigors of daily use and abuse confidently. The power steering is on point and provides decent feedback to the driver. The brakes have been improved with a set of new rear pads and this saloon stops on a dime. The suspension is compliant and takes less than ideal pavement with confidence. The wheels are all wrapped in new all-season rubber at each corner. The new tires quiet down the ride significantly and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
