At Japanese Classics, we're stuck in the past, and that's alright with us, thanks to models like the R34 Skyline. Nissan hit the mark with this agile coupe and our 1998 is a fine example. Finished in Black Pearl (KH3) the wingless exterior shows well despite a few minor paint defects and a couple scratches and dings here and there. The FRP GTR Style aero does a lot to set off the chassis, and this R34 is adorned by OEM rainguards, and some new, agressive Enkei PF01 alloys. With only 47k verified and documented miles on the clock, this is a collectible unit too, and is sure to hold value like its bigger siblings. Perfect as a daily driver, competent weekend autocrosser, or cool cruiser, this two-door is a truly versatile platform! Sports car looks with family car practicality, you truly get the best of both worlds with this Japanese Classic!
The interior is spacious, clean, and was cared for in a prior life overseas. The dashboard lacks any notable damage apart from some cracking atop the gauge hood, and dual front SRS airbags are standard for those who may be safety conscious. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and head and legroom are improved over models like the R32 and R33. The center stack includes a functional OEM audio system and digital automatic climate control. Cold A/C is on hand for the summer ahead and the heat is piping hot too for winter commutes. The seats are in above-average shape, and lack any major rips, although a couple of light stains are present here and there. The same can be said for the carpets, door cards, and headliner, which lack major damage. A MOMO steering wheel replaces the stock unit and feels much more appropriate over stock for this sports car. Power folding mirrors, electric locks, and power windows all work in typical Nissan fashion, making daily driving more enjoyable. Factory adjustable HID headlights are equipped too, which improves visibility when driving during the night. The owners manuals and maintenance booklets are on hand, and overall, it's hard to complain about the cabin, and the excellent condition is to be expected with such great mileage on the clock!
Typically, the exterior does all the talking for the R34 chassis, but enthusiasts give high marks to the RB25DET NEO under the bonnet, too. Bolstered with variable valve timing and a slight bump in horsepower, our trained technicians have performed a thorough once-over on this RB to ensure it performs its best. The I-6 cranks over with ease thanks to a new US spec 12v battery, and an oil and filter service was performed for good measure. We took care of the most important piece of preventative maintenance, with a comprehensive timing belt and water pump service, and a new fuel pump and filter were installed to keep the petrol flowing freely. The NEO is no slouch, especially cruising at highway speeds, and a 5-speed gearbox throws power rearward with authority. Aiding auditory stimulation, a Blitz Intercooler and 3" catback exhaust also bump your ponies up slightly, too. The rear diff fluid was flushed and Tein coilovers help close up any unsightly wheel gap and new front caster arms help keep the drivetrain safety compliant. The ABS brakes clamp down with force and we wrapped the Enkei's in fresh Falken rubber to ensure you'll have plenty of grip and tread for tens of thousands of miles to come! Save for an inoperable fuel and boost gauges, and a permanently disabled traction/slip control system, it's hard to critique this show stopping 34, and this classic is bound to get better with age.
