Interior Overview
Access to the cabin is made seamless courtesy of functional keyless entry. A tilt-adjustable steering column and a power driver seat allow the pilot to find the ideal seating position. A Pioneer radio looks modern, and Bluetooth integration allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road when streaming tunes. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and dual SRS front and side airbags are standard equipment, as are anti-lock brakes. The center stack is trimmed in a classy woodgrain finish and is within arm’s reach. The digital automatic climate system blasts cold AC and piping hot heat for those living in seasonal climate zones. Power folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows all work in typical Nissan fashion, which makes daily use more enjoyable. The tan colored upholstery is in above-average shape. The material is soft to the touch and is mirrored in the door cards. The headliner and carpets are in good shape, and even the OEM carpet mats are still on hand and included with the purchase of this nice little Nissan.
Mechanical Overview
Like a proper luxury car should be designed, this front-engine rear-drive model harkens back to a time gone by. The engine is surprisingly modern and is constructed out of lightweight aluminum. The VQ25DE under the hood is compact and runs smoothly. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.5L churns to life with the twist of the key. A new engine air filter and new fuel filter were installed as part of our tune-up, and we replaced the alternator belt to keep the electronics properly powered. One of our trained techs refreshed the V6 with a new rear main seal and lower oil pan, and it drives like a song, humming through an RS*R catback exhaust. The six-cylinder is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. The fluid was freshly exchanged, and the transmission shifts like a champ. It gets up to safe highway merging speeds with confidence and slows down immediately when called upon, courtesy of new front and rear brake pads and rotors. The suspension was rehabbed with new front thrust arms and adjustable coilovers. Freshly aligned with new inner and outer tie rods, the new 20″ tires should last for tens of thousands of miles to come. The power steering is light and on point, and this sedan tracks straight as an arrow. Turn key and ready to roll, this super saloon is road trip ready to go!
