The 1998 Land Cruiser 100 set new standards for refinement, luxury, and safety for Toyota's line of capable SUVs. It's remarkable how modern this VX Limited still feels, with its upmarket interior and punchy 4.7L V8. This lovely example was redone in Japan in a One-Off Basalt Black, and is set off by a stylish factory rear spoiler, subtle fender flares, LED tail lamps, brand new 16x8 -12ET Pro Comp alloy wheels, OEM rainguards, and some classy rear privacy tint. Aside from a few light scuffs, dings, and chips, this Land Cruiser is in good shape and fresh off a recent service. The 2UZ-FE is barely broken in, with a mere 116k verified and documented miles on the ticker, which is a fraction of what stateside vehicles typically have at this point. Perfect for a beach trip with the family, the commute to work, or shuttling the kids to soccer practice, this 4WD truck is more than up to the task. Easy to service, and highly collectible this Cruiser is a Japanese Classic that won't disappoint, and will only go up in value from here!

The cabin is in wonderful shape and was clearly cared for in Japan. The light-colored leather adds some contrast to the exterior and is in good shape. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and a commanding view of the road ahead. The factory woodgrain steering wheel feels fantastic in the palms of your hands and cruise controls are affixed to the right side.  The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and houses standard dual SRS airbags for some added peace of mind. A touchscreen Pioneer head unit adds to the aural experience and supplements the V8 soundtrack nicely. Directly below are the controls for the dual-zone climate control system. Inputs are intuitive and there is a button to turn on or off the rear system when in or out of use. The A/C is frigid and heat is accessible for the end of the year. If you prefer more natural ventilation an OEM sunroof can power retract and the side windows are electric too. Power folding side mirrors make parking in the city less stressful and the power locks work in typical Toyota fashion. The headliner, carpets, and door cards are in fine shape and appear to have withstood the last 25 years without sustaining major abuse. Its clear this LC was cared for overseas, and it shows!

Nearly identical to our US models, this J100 is convenient to service and maintain. The heart of this beast is the nearly bulletproof 2UZ-FE. This iron block engine is able to withstand loads of abuse, is low in vibration and sounds appealing under load with its throaty V8 growl. Ours is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up with the twist of the key care of a new 12v battery. A new fuel filter was installed for good measure and the V8 feels strong as an ox all the way up to redline. The 4664cc powerplant is linked to a smooth shifting automatic and Full-Time 4WD system. To ensure the power gets to the ground, one of our trained techs has installed a new right front inner CV boot while it was up in the air. Acceleration is quite good for a ute of this size and on the highway the Land Cruiser is unflappable. The long wheelbase and healthy curb weight deliver a substantial and predictable ride. The optional height-adjustable dampers work like a charm, and going up and down gets plenty of looks when parking and unloading people and cargo! The cabin is nicely insulated from small and large potholes alike and there is a decent amount of sound deadening compared to our average body-on-frame transporter. The ABS brakes feel confident and the power steering is light and on point. The new 275/70/16  Yokohama all-terrain rubber was mounted and balanced at all four corners. They reduce road noise even further and most importantly will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and deliver all the grip you need regardless of the road surface.
