#6043Being the largest Hilux Surf dealer in the US, we get to see consumers' preferences firsthand. On the top of the list are trucks like this, an intercooled 1998 N185. A lifted, turbodiesel example like this can't be beat, and ours is set off a factory scooped hood, stylish rear spoiler, menacing privacy tint, and 16" Lodio Drive alloys wrapped in new 33" all-terrains. This Hilux delivers an all-business aesthetic, but it can back it up without a doubt! Aside from a few light dings and chips, the Nighthawk Black (B92P) paint is in good nick and this rig is fresh off a recent service in our shop. Boasting only 129k verified and documented miles on the clock, this SSR-X is barely broken in and is turn-key ready to roll. Loved for its power, efficiency, durability, and handsome looks, this KZN185 would make for a practical daily driver or fun weekend overlander. Everyone from performance enthusiasts to families on the go will see the value in this truck, and that's why it's a certified Japanese Classic. The cabin's simple design allows the driver to focus on the road ahead and there are plentiful power options and decent materials utilized in its design. For those who may be safety conscious, dual SRS airbags are standard equipment. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and houses a centrally located automatic climate control system. Ice cold A/C and piping hot heat can be circulated throughout the cabin, but if you perfect more natural ventilation, power windows, electric rear glass, and an OEM moonroof can be retracted. To make daily use even more enjoyable, power locks and power-folding mirrors work like a charm, as does the power backup mirror that can be opened at the press of a button. Aspiring overlanders will love the factory field monitor mounted atop the windscreen, and the driver can cycle through various outside conditions and metrics in real time. The black, gray, and confetti-colored door cards and seats are in good nick and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The middle row can tumble forward to maximize cargo area and they also spit fold and four-way recline. The carpets and headliner are also in good nick and even the owner's manuals and maintenance booklets are included in the sale! Under the skin, this body-on-frame SUV shares its bones with our stateside models. That's why service and performance upgrades are readily available and can be had on the cheap. The crown jewel of this Toyota is its intercooled 1KZ-TE powerplant. Known for its steadfast reliability and prodigious low-end torque, the 3.0L is fresh off an oil and filter service and ready to roll. Thanks to a new 12v battery, fuel filter, and engine air filter, the four-banger churns over instantly and runs like a champ. One of our trained techs also replaced the leaking valve cover with a new one and we also replaced the vacuum pump seal. It's linked to a stout automatic that makes good use of the low-end powerband. In 2WD the Surf accelerates best and moving up to safe merging speeds is never an issue. The selective transfercase is easy to operate and switching to 4WD can be done on the fly. A center locking differential is also on standby as it is low-range, should sand or snow stand in your way. The power steering is light and on point and new inner and outer tie rods have been installed and a fresh alignment performed. The lifted suspension cushions against road imperfections well and offers loads of ground clearance. The ABS brakes feel confident and the stylish five-spoke multipiece alloy wheels are wrapped in new, meaty 33" rubber. *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
