Tough, dependable, and able to hold its own against more modern offerings, our diesel Hilux Surfs have been sweeping the nation and catching the eye of current truck enthusiasts looking to dive into their own Japanese Classic. Our Ceramic Metallic (47A) 1998 is a fine example, featuring all the Japanese accoutrements you've come to expect from the brand like the nifty factory spare tire carrier, OEM rainguards, and a slick set of refinished factory alloys. Sure there's some minor imperfections to be found along the body but overall the truck is in good nick, having racked up only 158k verified/documented miles over the past 25 years. Underpinned by an ultra reliable turbodiesel powerplant, body-on-frame durability, and selective 4WD, buying a Hilux Surf is almost a no brainer!

The interior was designed with durability, accessibility, and comfort in mind. The patterned tweed cloth has withstood the better part of two decades without falling victim to any unwanted gashes and tears outside of a few small rips and bolster wear in the driver's seat bottom. The dash is trimmed in a complementary grey vinyl and spans the cabin with no signs of cracking or unwanted UV distortion! Boasting one of the most ergonomically designed cockpits we've seen in an SUV, the automatic climate control is extraordinarily easy to use, with cold A/C and hot heat ready to go at a moments notice. Adjacent to the HVAC, Eclipse audio works like a charm. Safety was a top priority for the brand when designing this cabin, and both you and your passengers should feel good knowing dual SRS airbags, Antilock brakes, and reinforced pillars came standard for this chassis in the event of any unwanted on road emergencies. Additionally, the driver gains a tilt adjustable steering column and manual lumbar adjustment for optimal comfort behind the wheel. Power windows are standard and work as advertised, and the rear glass powers up and down for optimal airflow throughout the cabin. Power locks and power mirrors are all fully operational and work to make daily use a bit easier for all. The rear bench folds flat if extra cargo space is required in the rear, and if you require some shuteye on a roadtrip it even features a reclining feature. All in all, the cabin was clearly well kept over the years and should suit its next owner well in nearly every scenario!

Toyota enthusiasts used to dream of swapping their stateside 4Runners with the fabled turbodiesel 1KZ-TE that comes as standard equipment in this Surf. This punchy and responsive 3.0L touts a fair amount of service already performed by our trained technicians, this one springs to life care of two new 12v batteries and settles into a smooth idle. A fresh oil and filter service ensures you won't come up short on lubricant, while a new valve cover gasket buttons up any unwanted leaks or seeps up top. As a bit of a tune up, we preemptively replaced the engine air filter and fuel filter to ensure this diesel stays clean and contaminant free. With the maintenance performed, this one jets up to highway speeds without batting an eye and the automatic transmission does a swell job at throwing power down to the rear wheels. If an off road excursion arises, 4WD is easily activated, and a low range can be engaged as well through the selective transfercase. The suspension feels nicely sorted and new trailing arm bushings in the rear put the drivetrain into compliance for miles of worry-free operation. Braking is confident and if you need to come to a screeching halt, ABS can kick in to lend a hand. Lastly, we changed the tired old rubber with fresh Falken All Terrains, ensuring you'll have plenty of grip, stopping power, and comfort when needed most!
