The 100 Series Land Cruiser is a wonderful truck as we Americans know! Sadly, we lost out on the legendary turbodiesel powered models until recently. This 1998 HDJ101 is reliable, efficient, powerful, and refined. Finished in a lovely Warm Silver Metallic (1B1) the paint is in good shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal wear and tear. Set off by OEM rainguards, OEM split spoke silver alloys, an OEM spoiler, OEM spare tire swingarm, and subtle UV tint, this Land Cruiser is a handsome unit. Fresh off a recent service, this rig boasts a mere 90k verified and documented miles on the ticker, so it's barely broken in. Boasting a plush and spacious cabin, this safe and capable SUV would make for a trusty kid hauler, unique daily driver, or dedicated weekend trail warrior. An all-around performer such as this, is nothing short of a true Japanese Classic. 

The interior has been remarkably maintained and includes some decent power equipment. The driver enjoys a clear view of the road ahead and dual SRS airbags are standard for those riding up front. An adjustable steering column makes finding the ideal driving position easy, and power-folding mirrors, electric locks, and power windows all work making daily use more enjoyable. Keyless entry and cruise control also function properly. A Pioneer radio modernizes the interior and offers limited functionality, but operates. The auto climate controls are intuitive and cold a/c and piping hot heat can be mixed through the cabin on demand.  The seats are in above average shape and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The tan cloth is also durable. The middle row can tumble forward to accommodate more cargo, too. The door cards and headliner are in good nick and aside from some light carpet staining and some light plastic wear its hard to complain about this Cruiser. Even the owner's manuals and maintenance booklets are on hand, and OEM carpet mats have been retained to protect the floor liners below. 

Under the skin this beefy body on frame platform is shared with our USDM Landys. This makes parts and upgrades easy to come by, and inexpensive. Speaking of saving money, the 1HD-FTE engine is a fuel sipper, despite its 4.2L displacement. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the six cylinder churns to life instantly. One of our trained techs has replaced the weary old valve cover gasket with a new one too keep all the lubricant internal to the engine. The inline six is a naturally low-vibration mill, and little noise filters into the interior. Both fuel filters were replaced and the 1HD pulls hard to redline. Mated to a stout automatic, power is fed to both axles through a FullTime 4WD system. For beach outings and weekends on the trail, a locking center differential can be deployed as can low-range 4WD gearing. A fluid exchange was performed for the rear differential and power is put down to the pavement seamlessly. On tarmac, this truck is remarkably smooth. Stable on the highway, and able to soak up potholes large and small, this rig feels much like a Lexus LX. The ABS brakes feel tidy and the OEM alloys are wrapped in knee deep Dunlop rubber. Turn key and ready to roll this iconic Cruiser is a collectible, cool, surefire bet!
