Built to stand the test of time, and take the fight to the Germans, the Celsior is the standard bearer of luxury Japanese sedans. This 1998 is a special sedan, with its powerful and reliable V8, sumptuous leather interior, and handsome styling. Finished in a pretty Ebony Teal (6N9), this Type C model is set off by a subtle set of OEM rainguards. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs the paint is in good nick, and this recently serviced saloon is turn-key and ready to rock. Having only logged an incredible 42k verified and documented miles, this lead sled is barely broken in and it even includes a new timing belt and water pump. Perfect to be utilized as a daily driver, weekend cruiser, or safe family hauler, this UCF21 is the definition of a Japanese Classic.

This clean, classy cockpit is covered in expensive materials and includes loads of power options and rare leather seats. Dual front and side SRS airbags are standard and add some peace of mind for those who may be safety conscious. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and is set off by wood grain trim. The center stack includes OEM audio and automatic dual-zone climate controls. The infotainment and HVAC controls all work as they should, and daily driving is made even better by power folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows. If that wasn't enough electric equipment, dual power seats, and even powered seat belt adjusters are on hand. The driver has an electric adjustable steering column and steering wheel-mounted radar guided cruise control. The leather lacks any major cracking, holes, and rips and is comfortable over longer hauls. Front occupants have seat heaters for these cold winter mornings, too. The headliners, door cards, and carpets are in good nick and even the OEM mats are included in the purchase.

Fresh off a lifecycle update, the UCF21 became more powerful and efficient in late 1998. At the top of the sale of changes included the addition of a fifth forward gear, and variable valve timing was added to the 1UZ-FE. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the V8 promptly turns over care of a new 12v battery. To promote proper gasoline combustion, a new engine air filter and new fuel filter were installed while up on the lift. For those who value preventative maintenance, take some solace in knowing a new timing belt and water pump service was performed. Additionally, new valve cover gaskets were taken care of and we even replaced the worn-out hood struts. The 1UZ is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. Acceleration is noticeably faster than the 1997 models and merging onto the highway happens quicker than you'd expect. The ride is akin to a Lazy Boy, with the adjustable air suspension sorting out every pothole and bump it sails over. A new right front ball joint was installed by one of our trained technicians and overall the Celsior is predictable and quiet, even at higher speeds. The power steering is feather light and parking is easy as pie, even with its sizable exterior dimensions The ABS brakes feel responsive and the OEM alloy wheels are wrapped in brand-new Toyos at each corner. The new tires reduce road noise and will provide all the grip needed for tens of thousands of miles to come.
