Cool, capable, and collectible the N185 Hilux Surf is a Japanese Classic through and through. This 1997 is a special rig, and would be great as a daily driver, family hauler, or adventure mobile. Fresh off a recent service, this Stellar Blue over Dark graphite (8L7) example is offered with a mere 105k verified and documented miles. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good nick and set off by a set of color-matched and refinished factory alloy wheels, OEM rainguards and subtle privacy tint. Sporting the same fuel sipping 4 cylinder engine and driveline as US 4Runners, this five-seater is easy to service and parts are readily available on the cheap. It drives like a modern truck and includes a spacious cabin and plenty of safety items and electric conveniences. For those looking for a unique, affordable, and determined JDM SUV, look no further than this stellar 4WD ride!

The cabin is spacious, logically laid out, and well-optioned. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and adjustable lumbar support to accommodate the most comfortable driving position. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding as this tall ute rides far above traffic. The dash is in good shape and lacks any cracking or distortion. Power windows, door locks and side mirrors all work as they should and make daily use more enjoyable. If you have a furry friend the rear glass also unfurls at the push of a button for better ventilation. The center stack includes a functional OEM audio system and an automatic climate control unit. It should be noted that the sound quality isn't half bad, and that the A/C works nicely, as does the heat. If you can see past some light carpet staining and some minor holes in the driver and passenger seat bottoms, this interior should serve you quite well on your day-to-day commute. On the positive side, the seats lack any major rips, stains, or tears otherwise and the multicolored OEM carpet mats obscure much of the carpet staining. The headliner has held on tight and taut and the door cards are in good shape overall. Clearly, the car was cared for in a prior life and we think the new owner will appreciate its condition.

This SSR-V will deliver one of the easiest ownership experiences of any imported model. Thanks to a stateside twin, you can get all the filters, belts, and driveline components at your local auto parts store or dealer. The 2.7L four-banger is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life care of a new 12v battery we installed while it was in our shop. To keep the 3RZ-FE idling with confidence a new mass airflow sensor replaced the defective, old unit. A few oil leaks were taken care of and this Surf sports a new valve cover gasket and oil pump to keep her topped up on lubricant. With the engine electronics rehabbed the four-cylinder runs tip-top and is mated to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. It operates as it should, delivering reassured shifts that lack any hesitation. For fuel economy, we advise driving in 2WD, but we also realize the weather doesn't always comply. The simple-to-use selective transfercase can be engaged from within the cabin giving the pilot the ability to utilize 4WD on the fly. If the going gets particularly tough, or you have a beach excursion planned, 4WD low can provide that additional torque to keep this big bad girl moving. The ABS braking system inspires confidence and the suspension is predictable and plenty adequate for daily driving. The multilink suspension allows for a more premium feel on pavement and more capability off it. The power steering is light and makes this truck exceptionally easy to control both on and off the pavement. The refinished and color-matched OEM 16"s are wrapped in new all-terrain tires at all four corners. They look mean but most importantly will last for tens of thousands of additional miles to come.
