The JZX100 Toyota Chaser is one of the most well-rounded platforms to emerge from the land of the rising sun. It's no wonder these sleek sport sedans have proven to be so versatile, and with handsome exterior styling, room for five, and a fiercely reliable Toyota powertrain it's easy to see why the X100 platform has quickly captured the hearts of stateside enthusiasts. While the JZX was offered in a plethora of different models and trims, none is more desirable than the Chaser Tourer V. Our 1997 model is nothing short of a showstopper, and with only 79k verified/documented miles, this terrific tourer is just getting broken in! Finished in Toyota's instantly recognizable Ebony Teal Pearl (6N9), the exterior of this Chaser features all the right accouterments, with a one-off FRP front lip, OEM optional side skirts, and VIP-esque Weds Bellona wheels stealing the show. An OEM rear spoiler, rear lip, and privacy tint round off the subtle exterior styling. Even better, the chassis has seen a hefty drop, care of some Tein coilovers that eliminate any unsightly wheel gap. Aside from some age-related stone chips and one scratch on the right rear door, the exterior looks fantastic for the age of the vehicle! Recently serviced and ready to roll, this sophisticated saloon is a turn-key rear-drive monster, and a legendary Japanese Classic that surely won't stay here long.

The interior of this sports saloon features all of the quality, comfort, and power amenities you've come to expect from Toyota over the years. With plenty of head and leg room for all 5 passengers, this Chaser's cabin is well equipped and was clearly cared for by its previous owner as well! The striped cloth upholstery on the factory seats is in good nick, with almost no signs of use aside from some light wear on the bolsters and center armrest. The low profile dash shows nicely and is free of any pesky cracks, peeling although there is the typical lifting by the defrost vents on the base of the windscreen. The passengers benefit from front and side SRS airbags, though the driver's airbag has been removed to accommodate an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel. The wheel feels good in the palms of ones hands, and the wood accents perfectly complement the factory tortoise trim around the climate control and shifter bezel. The center stack conveniently houses a touch screen Carrozzeria audio upgrade with Bluetooth and USB compatibility, and a fully functioning digital automatic climate control unit. A/C blows ice cold and more importantly, hot heat is on standby for those upcoming fall and winter months. Power windows, power locks, and power-folding mirrors are all in good operation, and a Viper alarm system ensures your pride and joy will always stay secure. The factory instrumentation is clear and easy to read, and a Defi boost gauge resides atop the dash and works flawlessly. The back seats have plenty of room and the trunk has ample cargo space to carry around any traveling necessities. The carpets and headliner are both in good nick, and we even have the factory carpeted floor mats on deck! Overall the cabin shows quite nicely and aside from some expected wear on the steering wheel and a missing factory spare there's not much to scoff at with this interior.

The JZX100 is truly one of Toyota's best driving sport sedans. Thanks to a refreshed turbocharged 1JZ engine with variable valve timing and a quick shifting automatic transmission, this Tourer V runs laps around the competition and maintains the fierce reliability that Toyota's powerplants are known for. The motor fires right up, care of a new 12V battery and purrs like a kitten at idle, emitting an intoxicating combination of inline-six noises from the Blitz Nur Spec catback exhaust. Seasoned JZ owners will know that maintenance is key on these engines, especially on the oiling components, and a new VVTi gasket set, new cam seals, and new valve covers ensure this Chaser won't sweat a drop. We've even installed a new timing belt and tensioner to keep this engine in tip top shape for miles and miles to come! The automatic transmission is surprisingly responsive and does a swell job at keeping this turbo tuner in the powerband, shifts are smooth and rapid and power is hammered down to the rear wheels without a hitch. For a lowered vehicle, this sedan still rides comfortably and this highway cruiser can even hold it's own in the corners when needed. The brakes bite hard and have no issue slowing you down for when you "accidentally" max out the speedometer. This is a driver's car in every essence of the word, and will surely be a great cruiser for any aspiring owner. We've even professionally mounted and balanced 4 new Falken tires to grip the road for tens of thousands of miles to come!
