Stock #6154With increased regulations and crackdowns on our beloved kei vehicles in the USA, models like this Pajero Junior are proving to be the perfect pint-sized solution for four wheel fun. Our 1997 is a determined and capable little ute, and it sports a fresh coat of Baja Storm (HAL) paintwork. The body shows well overall although prior Japanese records indicate a replacement of the right side door. Still, things are no worse for the wear, and this Junior is bound to turn heads wherever it goes, with its dual driving lamps up front and optional rear spoiler. Rocking just 85k verified and documented miles, this terrific two door is too cool! Compact, capable, and downright fun to drive, the Pajero Junior might be your next favorite Japanese Classic!Deceptively spacious and packed to the gills with durable materials and amenities, it's easy to fit the Pajero into your day-to-day errands. The seats are upholstered in a soft tan cloth which has resisted any major spills, stains, and tears over the years. Legroom is abundant up front, and a couple jump seats can be deployed should you need to haul around pets or kids in the rear. The dash tucks away nicely into the front of the cabin, and a driver SRS airbag is on hand so you can stay safe in this petite SUV. A factory field monitor rests atop the dash cover and displays some necessary driving parameters, and manual climate control lies below so you can pump out cold A/C or hot heat on demand. Working towards the center stack, upgraded Carrozzeria audio is on hand and the sound quality is decent overall. The door cards, headliner, and carpet have all remained in fine shape and as a whole this Pajero was clearly cared for in a prior life. For daily use, both power windows go up and down with haste, and the locks and power mirrors work on command. Although different in stature to its larger siblings, this Junior's interior proves to be a capable contender. We even retained the owner's manual, and maintenance booklet to preserve this 4x4's history!Compared to its anemic cousin, the Pajero Mini, the Junior features a peppy 1.1l four banger (4A31) under the hood that offers plenty of ponies for high-demand stateside driving. Ours is fresh off a recent service and Virginia state safety inspection, and we plopped a new 12v battery under the hood to aid ignition. We replaced the busted up radiator with a new aluminum unit so the coolant stays contained, and also dropped in a new engine air filter and fuel filter for a bit of a necessary tune up. This Junior gets up without breaking a sweat, and an automatic gearbox throws the power to a selective 4WD system that's robust and capable off-road or on loose surfaces. To shore up the suspension a bit, we installed new inner and outer tie rods up front and replaced both front swaybar links for good measure. This tiny SUV now drives, steers, and stops as you'd expect and is a treat to toss around town. Better yet, we mounted and balanced fresh Falken rubber on all four corners. Not only will it last a long while, it should keep you glued to the road for miles to come!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
