Tweaked and improved for 1997, we have fallen in love with the new body Pajero models. Featuring a punchy gasoline GDI V6, more angular and aggressive styling, and a capable 4WD system, this spacious and safe SUV can transport you off the beaten path in the utmost comfort. This seven-seat Exceed model is finished in a stately Summit White over Satelite Gray two-tone(W09/A69). Accessorized by a set of OEM rainguards, rear privacy tint, an OEM front brushguard, and a rear roof ladder, the paint is in good shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs. Fresh off a recent service, this trusty rig is being offered with a mere 64k verified and documented miles, and is turn-key ready to drive home. For those looking for a wonderful all-weather daily driver, cool cruiser, or competent crawler, look no further than this special Japanese Classic.

The cabin is in above-average condition overall. It includes several aftermarket upgrades including a backup camera, front and rear dashcams, a Pioneer head unit, and some neat factory options. The dashboard itself is in good shape and lacks any cracking or fading. The optional digital climate control system was optioned in this example and works like a charm, delivering cold A/C and heat upon demand. The OEM field monitor above delivers vitals about the direction of travel and the exterior conditions, and it works, too. Its mounted between dual front SRS airbags which should add some peace of mind for whoever is behind the wheel. Functional power windows, electric door locks, a retractable sunroof, and power mirrors make daily use more enjoyable and are functional. We did want to note the sunroof is a bit slow to retract and the power folding function of the side mirrors no longer works. Still, that is a bit of nitpicking about this 25-year-old steed, and the rest of the interior impresses. The upholstery is soft and lacks any major rips, tears, or stains. The tan cloth is also supportive on longer drives, and the third row can be stowed up on the D-pillar or completely removed. The middle row also folds forward to accommodate larger cargo. The headliner and carpets have withstood the past 25 years without sustaining major abuse and even the OEM floor mats are on hand for the next owner to enjoy!

The mechanicals have a reputation for reliability, and were designed to last. This body on frame platform is powered by the 6G74 V6. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 3.5L mill whirrs to life care of a new 12v battery. The powerplant is linked to an automatic transmission that includes an extra gear over for better pickup over the prior year's model. This allows this larger Mitsubishi to get up to highway speeds in a jiffy and save some fuel with a longer final drive. The selective transfercase offers the driver the opportunity to shift on the fly between 2wd and 4WD. If a beach trip is in order, or your area just had a snowstorm pass through, an optional center-locking differential can be engaged to keep the momentum moving forward. The ABS brakes are confident feeling, as is the predictable suspension that gobbles up potholes large and small. The power steering is light yet on point and the aftermarket 16" alloys are all wrapped in new all-season tires. The new rubber quiets down the ride noticeably and will last tens of thousands of miles to come.
