As US enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of R34 Skylines later this year, we're hoping this 1997 Stagea scratches the itch. Outfitted with Nissan's RB25DET, a slick-shifting manual transmission, and RWD, this Stagea is quick, capable, and one heck of a looker thanks to its R34 front fascia. Donning a one-off R34 style front bumper, fenders, and hood, the exterior looks swell, and is set off by side skirts and a one-off rear bumper lip. Finished off in gun grey metallic (KH2) there isn't much to complain about exterior-wise save for some expected stone chips and waves on the fiberglass body panels. Bronze 18" Work XD9 alloys round off the drop-dead gorgeous silhouette. With only 118k verified/documented miles on the clock, this wagon has plenty of life left as a weekend cruiser or dedicated show queen. No matter how you drive it, we're proud to call this one-of-a-kind Stagea a certified Japanese Classic.

Staying true to form, the interior is still plenty comfortable and capable of belonging in a sport wagon. Better yet, this one also seems to have been cared for in a prior life based on the condition. The upgraded Recaro SR3 buckets are upholstered in the recognizable confetti fabric and have resisted any serious wear and tear over the years, save for some expected age-related staining and bolster wear. The material is mirrored in the door cards as well, and the rest of the interior fabrics have resisted any serious use or abuse as the headliner and carpets have remained in great nick. The dash is trimmed in black vinyl and is fortunately free of any serious cracks, distortion, or UV damage. The driver's wheel has been swapped for a more ergonomic Vertex unit, and a tilt-adjustable steering column allows for more accessibility behind the wheel. Nestled in the center stack is functional Panasonic audio, and a fully operational digital automatic climate control system is at the ready, with cold A/C at the ready and hot heat available should you choose to test this wagon out during the winter months. For any aspiring co-drivers, a full suite of Autogauge gauges is on full display, providing insight on oil temperature, oil pressure, and water temperature, although the oil temp gauge seems to have given up the ghost. A full slate of power amenities are available to make daily driving a bit more comfortable. Power windows, door locks, and power mirrors work at the push of a button, although the power fold feature needs a bit of persuasion to operate. This Stagea even has a trick dual moonroof system that allows natural ventilation to flow freely about the cabin. For the handy types, this wagon is about as capable as it is comfortable, and the rear bench folds down with ease to accommodate runs to the hardware store or a corral for your furry friends. The rest of the interior fabrics follow suit in terms of condition, and the rear seats, headliner, and door cards aren't too worse for the wear save for a missing plug for the center moonroof adjustment. We've even retained the factory carpeted floor mats in the front to protect what's under your feet!

Under the bonnet, the Stagea shares most of its mechanicals with Nissan's Skyline GTS25-t, a potent, easy-to-service platform that's quite reliable to boot! The turbocharged inline-six cranks over swiftly care of a new 12v battery, and our trained technicians have completed a fair amount of preventative maintenance on this unit as well to ensure reliability for the road ahead. To save you the headache down the line, we've installed a fresh timing belt and water pump, and replaced the front main seal while we were in there as well. New serpentine belts were done to prevent unnecessary slips and squeaks, and a new oil pan gasket ensures you won't lose a drop of lubricant! A Greddy oil cooler is even on hand to get the most of the fresh oil and filter service. Keeping up with this wagon's aggressive appearance, the motor has a few extras as well to enhance this lovely RB's auditory appeal. The turbo is fed by a HPI intake, and a matching HPI front mount intercooler keeps charge temperatures down. On throttle, an aftermarket catback exhaust sounds fantastic without being too overbearing at highway speeds. Shifts through the 5-speed manual transmission are smooth and direct, and rear wheel drive power is at the ready for a bit of fun factor. To shore up the drivetrain a bit, new rear toe arms were installed up on the lift, and she handles well in the twisties thanks to aftermarket coilovers. New brake pads on all four corners bring this Stagea to a screeching halt, if needed, and fresh Falken rubber provides the last bit of assurance that you'll be covered in any situation where reliable grip is needed! This wagon is truly like no other, all it needs is someone equally as unique behind the wheel!
