The C35 Laurel is just about the most raw and exhilarating sports car experience you can get out of a luxury-forward 4 door sedan. Our 1997 Medalist V sports the same robust RB25DET and manual transmission combination as the brand's more popular Skyline platform, while excelling in comfort, capability, and driving stability. Finished in White Pearl and offset by a one-off mesh grille, an FRP front lip, and a stylish set of 17" A Tech alloys, this C35 is lowered on coilovers and certainly looks the part, save for some rock chips in the paint and light dings and imperfections throughout. We also wanted to note that the front end panels were noted as replaced in Japan. Boasting only 101k verified miles and in good nick overall, this Laurel would be a prime candidate for a Cars & Coffee showstopper, weekend back road warrior, or a polished garage queen. No matter what you choose to do with it, there's certainly no denying this Medalist's Japanese Classic pedigree.

Having about 12 years' experience with the marque, we are staunch advocates for the Laurel's interior fit and finish, and with a couple performance-based upgrades this one has all the trimmings needed to make a killer daily transporter! Upholstered in tan leather with woodgrain accents, the upholstery shows well overall from the headliner to the door card inserts, and for more sport-oriented drivers the factory bucket seat has been swapped to a Recaro SP-G. The vinyl dash sweeps the width of the cabin and houses a few hidey holes for your valuables. Most importantly, it has digital automatic climate control front and center, with cold A/C and hot heat just a knob's turn away. Adjacent to the HVAC, Kenwood audio works like a charm and the sound quality is above average for a classic cabin such as this. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column mated to an aftermarket steering wheel, and the passenger gains a front facing SRS airbag for a bit of peace of mind. All four power windows operate as expected, and the power locks and mirrors work too for some added accessibility during daily duty. The rear bench can comfortably seat three additional passengers with ease, and the trunk has ample space for luggage, groceries, or other cargo. Overall, the cabin is well appointed for daily driving. Some trim pieces are cracked, there's a bit of wear on the steering wheel, and the center console trim has been modified for the 5 speed swap, but for the discerning performance enthusiast there shouldn't be much to turn your nose up at on this C35's cockpit. We even retained the factory carpet mats to protect your precious upholstery underneath!

As if the interior and exterior weren't enough to sell you on this Medalist, our trained technicians have done a comprehensive service on this RB25 to ensure she's primed and ready for the road ahead! After performing a fresh oil/filter service, a replacement of the cam and crank seals were in order. We also replaced the timing belt and water pump while we were in there to get you on track for the next 10 years or 100,000 kilometers. To further seal up against unwanted leaks of lubricant, we replaced the cam and crank seals, valve cover gaskets, and new serpentine belts were installed across the board to ensure your accessories stay reliably driven. We even installed a new fuel pump and filter to protect your petrol from any unwanted contaminants. The punchy RB feels healthy as a horse and really comes to life in this chassis when mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. A Blitz Intake, Blitz Intercooler, and aftermarket exhaust accentuate the powertrain's auditory response and this RB makes all the right noises. The transmission selects gears without a hitch, and a rear LSD not only aids cornering but pays dividends if you're looking to explore drifting as well. To dial in the handling, new caster arms were installed in the front and we performed a custom four-wheel alignment here in the shop. The power steering is feather light and easy to articulate, and the braking system can reel this slab in to a screeching halt if needed thanks to new brake pads front and rear, and new rotors up front. Lastly, we wrapped the alloys in fresh Falken rubber, where traction, comfort, and all weather grip are available in droves!
