While the Toyota Aristo may be most famous for its super-sleeper 2JZ-GTE equipped V300 edition, models like this humble JZS160 are still extraordinarily capable, comfortable, and unequivocally wonderful options for reliable daily commuters or Cars and Coffee cruisers! Sporting only 39k verified/documented miles on the clock, this 1997 is about as good as they get, and a definitive example of a true Japanese Classic. Finished from the factory in Silver Metallic (199) Toyota really nailed the design of these second-generation models. The flowing lines, classic rear-drive proportions, and distinctive features such as bug-eyed headlights cemented these Aristo's in the history books as one of the most timeless luxury sport sedan designs of all time. With additional exterior touches like OEM fog lights and clean 16" factory alloys, this S160 is strictly business, and aside from some light dings, chips, and minor scratches on the exterior, there's not much to pick on cosmetically. For a classic sedan that will likely outlast those who own it, this luxury barge is recently serviced, primed and ready for a new lease on life stateside.

Upon opening the doors, the interior exudes comfort, and it's immediately evident that this vehicle was cared for in a prior life. The grey executive cloth upholstery is soft to the touch and seems to have resisted rips, tears, and even major staining over its 39,000-mile stint in Japan. The dash condition follows suit, and dual front and side SRS airbags are on hand to keep you and your precious cargo safe in case of any on-road emergencies. Showing no signs of cracks, fading, or pesky UV damage, the dash materials show well, down to the wood trim in the center stack. S160 models were a bit more utilitarian in terms of cockpit design, and the climate control and OEM audio exist as two separate units. The dual zone HVAC blows cold A/C with hot heat on the ready for our chilly Virginian winters, and the audio plays crisp and clear throughout the cabin. Both driver and passenger benefit from power adjustable seating, with the driver receiving a power tilt and telescoping steering column to further dial in the ideal driving position. Staying true to form as a luxury sedan, plenty of additional power amenities are on deck to make daily driving a bit easier. All four windows are automatic, and power locks and power-folding mirrors work without a hitch. The rear seats are spacious and look like they've seldom been used, and the headliner and door cards have remained in remarkably good nick, as well. The "Indiglo" style instrument cluster is easy to read and displays all parameters accordingly, and we've even retained the factory spare tire and original carpeted floor mats as well, valuable items to have on hand to protect this seldom-used sled.

Under the bonnet, US enthusiasts will be pleased to see the 2JZ-GE is the same easily serviceable powerplant spec'd in stateside Toyota and Lexus offerings. A reliable, fuel-efficient mill, this one is fresh off a recent tune up in-house and primed and ready for the road ahead. The motor fires up swiftly with the twist of a key, thanks to a new 12v battery, which was also installed to properly test the alternator. A fresh oil and filter service keeps this one well lubricated until its next maintenance cycle, and she runs and drives butter smooth! Compared to its bigger, twin turbocharged brother, the GE has plenty of get up and go around town, and acceleration on the highway is substantial as well. The automatic box shifts smoothly up and down the gears without hesitation, as power is hammered down to the rear wheels. The suspension is plenty soft and compliant, gobbling up road imperfections large and small without making a peep, and the ABS brakes offer the stopping power to come to an immediate halt if needed. The power steering is light and direct, as you'd expect from a luxury sedan, and best of all, we've mounted and balanced new Falken tires at all four corners to get this Aristo ready for tens of thousands of reliable miles ahead!
