JDM imports are a big deal these days, and there are very few hidden gems left out there. The model that represents perhaps the best SUV value is the J95 Land Cruiser. This 1997 is a wonderful truck, offered with a mere 72k verified and documented miles. Powered by one of Toyota's most prolific turbo diesels, this spacious and safe rig is efficient, powerful, and can be put to use year-round with its full-time 4WD setup. Finished in a Desert Dune over Gray Metallic two-tone (K03), this TX is set off by a set of OEM rainguards and refinished OEM five-spoke alloys. Prior repairs in Japan include a replacement hood and front fenders, and aside from a couple of light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good nick overall. Stylish, capable, and fun to drive, this family hauler would be a killer daily driver! Rest assured, this five-seater would happily pull double duty on a muddy trail or rocky backroad if that's your thing. Affordable, easy to service, and practical, this Japanese Classic is an all-around incredible deal!

The cabin is as large as any of our current SUV lineup, and the build quality is top notch. It also has a fair amount of safety features and electric amenities for those passionate about accessibility. Up front, the driver and passenger benefit from dual SRS airbags and standard ABS for some added peace of mind. The dash itself is in good nick and lacks any cracking or fading. A Kenwood audio upgrade sounds fantastic, and a simple-to-use climate control unit is mounted directly below. It features cold A/C and piping-hot heat as well as a full range of automatic settings. The factory instrumentation is easy to read and an OEM field monitor displays plenty of information about the outside conditions for those behind the wheel. A full slate of electric equipment is on hand including power windows, locks, and folding side mirrors. It even has keyless entry! In typical Toyota fashion, these items all work as they should. The textured, multicolored cloth seats are in good shape, lacking any major rips, stains, or tears. The pattern breaks up the dour gray cabin color and compliments the faux wood accents. The same material is mirrored in the door cards, which are in good shape, as is the headliner. Sadly, the cabin isn't perfect, and we wanted to note some light carpet staining and a broken rear cupholder cover. On the positive side, the OEM carpet mats are on hand and obscure a majority of the stains, and the truck is hard to nitpick otherwise.

This body-on-frame Toyota is a rugged son of a gun, and was built to stand the test of time. Improved with an intercooler, the torquey 1KZ-TE under the bonnet makes more power than earlier versions, and is fresh off an oil and filter service. The 3.0L cranks over promptly, aided by two new 12v batteries and a new fuel filter. The four-banger idles with confidence, and one of our trained techs has replaced the accessory belts to ensure she keeps the electronics all powered up. Mated to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox, this Cruiser is great for stop-and-go traffic, and shifts as it should when running up and down the gears. The full-time 4WD system boasts a standard center locker and the ability to select 4WD low when the going gets tough. When you combine the robust drivetrain with the new Falken tires mounted and balanced at all four corners, you'll be unlikely to get bogged down in this gutty Prado. We also rehabbed the driveline after this truck arrived stateside. After replacing the forward output seal on the t-case, we serviced all three of the differentials with new fluid. The two rear shocks were replaced with new ones to deliver a more premium ride, and the front and rear brake pads and rotors were swapped out for brand-new units, allowing this heavyweight to be slowed down in a jiffy. The power steering is light and on point, and the overall feel of the platform is as modern as anything we are currently selling. Close your eyes for a moment and you might even think you're behind the wheel of a Lexus GX. Lastly, we put new rubber on all four corners and even the spare, to ensure you never fall short on traction when you need it the most!
