***** This vehicle is being sold as a running and driving project. It has failed Virginia State Safety Inspection for structural corrosion and must be shipped/trailer off premises upon its purchase.

For those with an active lifestyle, and a bit of a free spirit, the Honda CR-V is a good fit. Boasting all-wheel-drive and a peppy four-cylinder engine, this soft-roading crossover is at home at soccer practice, on the interstate, or at the campsite. Finished in a subtle Zinc Silver Metallic (NH-595M), this 1997 is offered with a mere 70k verified and documented miles. The paint is in good shape overall aside from some normal scuffs, dings, and chips associated with normal use and this five-seater is set off by a set of OEM rainguards, rear privacy tint, and a pricey factory-polished brush guard. While the driveline and exterior are in similar nick to our retail vehicles, this CR-V sadly has structural corrosion located along the passenger and driver's side rear door rockers and pinch welds. While it is repairable, it is also time intensive, and as such we have made the choice to retail this vehicle at a wholesale to the public price! Affordable, easy to service, and efficient, this recently serviced and lovable Honda is a Japanese Classic through and through, that would make for a killer fixer-upper!

The spacious cabin is wonderful for daily use and the occasional excursion. Gobs of headroom and a clear view of the road ahead differentiate the RD-1 from its sedan stablemates. The dashboard is in good nick and lacks any cracking or fading. The passenger has access to a sizable glovebox and an additional storage cubby directly above. The driver benefits from plenty of electric options including power windows, door locks, and power-folding side mirrors. All these work as advertised and the same can be said for the OEM audio. These items make daily use more enjoyable as does the automatic climate control system. It is missing an adjustment knob but that's an easy fix. For this time of year, piping hot heat is on standby, and the A/C works, too. The seats are trimmed in a durable gray cloth. It is soft to the touch and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards are in good nick, as are the carpets, but we did want to note some light staining on the headliner. It is also missing the foldable center tray table, but the lack of cupholders will force you too keep your eyes on the road! Joking aside, the CR-V is in remarkably good shape otherwise and even includes a nearly mint set of factory-carpeted floor mats, owner's manual, maintenance booklet, and spare key, too!

The hallmark of 1990's Hondas was their unquestioned commitment to reliability and durability. The CR-V is no exception and this B20 powered crossover is turn-key ready to rock. Fresh off an oil and filter service the 2.0L springs to life care of a new 12v battery. It idles with confidence thanks to a set of spark plugs and a new engine air filter. One of our trained techs also replaced the weary old valve cover gasket with a new one, to keep the B-Series topped up on oil. Mated to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox, power can be sent to both axles if you plan to use this baby year-round. New trailing arm bushings and a replaced rear pinion seal shore up the rest of the driveline. It accelerates well and can be taken on long interstate drives with relative comfort. The brakes are capable and the power steering is light and feels like almost every Honda we pilot. The Japanese tires will need a replacement soon, but that is an inexpensive investment. Bargain hunters, JDM enthusiasts, and shade tree metal fabricators rejoice, as your budget CR-V has arrived.
