Many view SUVs as the modern-day equivalent of the classic station wagon. While we understand the comparison, driving a crossover can be admittedly less than inspiring and leave a lot to be desired. With that in mind, this practical and sporty 1997 Accord CF6 would make for a killer daily driver. Fresh off a recent service, and offered with a mere 96k verified and documented miles, this spacious and safe estate is turn-key and ready to roll. Finished in a lovely Tafetta White (NH-578), and set off by subtle privacy tint and a set of OEM alloy wheels, the body and paint are in good nick aside from some light dings, chips, touchup, and scratches associated with normal use. The modern, sculpted exterior was daring to produce at the time and is unique to this day. Boasting reliable mechanicals and an affordable entry price, this useful Honda would make for a wonderful kid hauler, daily driver, or weekend cruiser. Inexpensive to maintain, and pleasing to drive, this lovable Accord is one heck of an unassuming Japanese Classic!

The cabin offers decent outward visibility and tons of space for friends, family, and cargo. Honda utilized more glass than the Sears tower when designing the passenger cell, so you can see around the vehicle when darting in and out of traffic and parking in reverse. The modern-styled dash lacks any cracking or fading and houses dual front SRS airbags and a neat OEM navigation/tv radio unit. The screen is easy to read and an automatic climate control system rest below, primed to send cold A/C or heat through the cabin. The new owner will be able to find the ideal driving position thanks to an adjustable steering column and comfortable tan cloth seats. The latter of which lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. Electric folding side mirrors, power locks, and power windows make daily use more enjoyable and work in typical Honda fashion. The door cards match the seat upholstery and are in good shape as is the headliner.  We did want to note some light carpet staining. On the positive side, the OEM carpet mats obscure the damage and will be able to protect against future mishaps. The cargo area has withstood the past 25 years without sustaining major abuse, and the rear seats can be folded flat to accommodate more cargo in a pinch. The security cover, often discarded in Japan is still installed and keeps prying eyes away from your stowed valuables. Even the owner's manuals and maintenance booklets are included for the new buyer, packed away tightly in the glove box.

While the styling is eye-catching and stands apart from the USDM crowd, the new owner will love the fact that the F23A four-cylinder was offered here in the US. That makes parts and service a snap! The 2.3L is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up promptly with the twist of the key. A new 12v battery aids ignition and new fuel filter alloys for proper combustion. An aftermarket intake with a new filter adds to the aural sensation of the VTEC engine, and is the only performance modification on this wagon. Power is fed through a slick-shifting automatic to the front wheels. Cutting edge at the time, the driver has the ability to manually shift the gearbox up and down, through a dedicated gate on the selector. It correlates to a digital dash display and if you squint hard enough, you might conjure up your inner Senna, going flat out and sequentially shifting your Honda on the way to dropping off the kids at school. The wagon has plenty of get up and go to safely merge on the highway and is responsive around town. The steering is a delight, and a dial by the steering wheel allows you to change its heft on the fly to curtail the feel to that of the driver. A new front right inner and outer tie rod have been replaced and a fresh alignment performed, which allows this eastate to track straight as an arrow. The brakes are grabby and there is tons of grip to be found from the newly mounted and balanced 15" Falkens. The new rubber also quiets down the ride a bunch and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
