The 70 Series Land Cruiser Prado is becoming quite the cult classic here in the states. Heralded for it's rugged looks, and staunch Toyota reliability, these Japanese G Wagens seem to have stood the test of time, and look great crawling over our local tarmac and trails! Our 1994 Prado SX is quite the looker, with its one-off Rose Gold paint, tube front bumper, and massive Aiba Works roof rack. The paint is in fair shape aside from light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Sporting a 4x4 Engineering roof ladder, OEM rainguards, and a set of LED tail lights, this rig is quite the head turner, and with 15" Mickey Thompson alloys clad in aggressive BFG rubber on all four corners it's hard to complain about its aggressive demeanor on the road. Fresh off a recent service, this high-riding rig is offered with 173k verified and documented miles. For year-round use, the occasional muddy trail, or a weekend cruise away from the city, this terrific Toyota would be an ideal chariot. Unique, reliable, and trustworthy, this J78 is a blast to drive, highly collectible, and above all, a bonafide Japanese Classic.

The cabin is in above-average shape, despite its rather utilitarian design, and still packs a fair amount of power amenities to make daily duty stress free. It's rare we see these without major dash cracks, but this one seems to have escaped the harmful UV rays of the sun, save for a small nick atop the passenger side. By far the most impressive upgrade is the US-spec JVC touch screen headunit. It works great and the Bluetooth functionality allows for your favorite tunes to pump through the cabin upon the twist of a key. Also positioned in the center stack is a user-friendly climate control unit, ripe with Cold A/C and hot heat for these ever-erratic winter temps. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and power adjustable lumbar support to find the ideal driving position. Power windows, locks, and mirrors all function as they should, and make daily use more enjoyable. The upholstery is particularly special, and trimmed in a textured cognac-colored cloth. Save for a small gash on the driver's seat bolster, they're plenty comfortable and more than acceptable for 25-year-old fabric. The rear row is versatile, folding all the way forward if you want to pack a sleeping bag and go off the grid. The headliner, door cards, and carpets are in good nick, and the biggest cabin blemish seems to be a small portion of chipped plastic trim around the gear lever. That admittedly is a bit of nitpicking for a vehicle that's a quarter century old, but we wanted to mention it. This Prado SX even comes with the OEM carpet mats, owners manuals, and maintenance booklet, sure to protect this timeless Cruiser's storied history.

This simple yet sturdy body-on-frame platform is confident on and off the beaten path. Powered by the durable and potent 1KZ-TE, this truck has no problem merging onto the highway, and cruising at sustained speeds. The engine benefits from a fresh oil and filter service, and a fresh fuel filter to ensure this diesel's butter smooth operation. The engine cranks over swiftly, care of two recently replaced 12v batteries, and the 3.0 TD happily chugs along at idle. While this is certainly a prominent truck, acceleration is quite the opposite of what you'd expect, and is anything but sluggish. This rig cruises comfortably at highway speeds and could easily handle anything from extended road trips to quick jaunts to the grocery store. The factory radiator has been replaced with an aluminum unit, and you should be rest assured that operating temps will always be in check. The automatic transmission leaves little to be desired from the drivetrain and shifts through the gearbox are smooth and predictable, with selectable 4WD at the ready. Should you become entrenched in loose terrain, low gearing is on hand to pull you out of sticky situations. The suspension, as you'd expect, glides over road imperfections large and small and is rather responsive for such a classic chassis, and the brakes offer plenty of stopping power if you need to come to an abrupt halt. After a rigorous on-road test by our trained technicians she's been given a good bill of health, and with miles of tread left on the A/T rubber, this timeless Land Cruiser 70 is ready to power on for tens of thousands of miles of exhilarating on and off-road adventures!
