Refined around round town and boasting breathtaking retro styling, this practical Hilux Surf is a true Japanese Classic. Finished in a one-off Banana Cream, this gasoline-powered Toyota is set off by matte black factory alloys, an OEM rear spoiler, and rear privacy tint, and a 2" lift. Aside from a few light dings and chips associated with normal use, the paint is in good shape and this five-seater is turn-key ready to rock. Fresh off a recent service, this SSR-X touts a mere 108k verified and documented miles on the clock. Featuring the same inexpensive to service mechanicals as our stateside 4Runners, these rigs provide a wonderful alternative to US 4Runners that typically have more miles and fewer options. As a year-round daily driver, capable beach crawler, or dependable family hauler this Hilux is an absolute winner!

The cabin seems to have been cared for overseas and includes a bevy of power upgrades and optional equipment. The optional sunroof brings in tons of natural light to the cabin making it feel much more expansive. Combined with the roll-down rear glass, this time of year is perfect for open-air cruising! The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and adjustable lumbar support. These two items paired with the functional power windows, door locks, and electric mirrors make daily use more enjoyable. These dashboards commonly delaminate and ripple, but this one has escaped the harmful rays of the sun without sustaining major damage. Centrally mounted automatic climate control allows those within the cabin to dial in hot heat or cold A/C when they necessary. Dual SRS airbags are standard for those who may be safety conscious, as well. The seats are upholstered in a durable cloth that lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The headliners, door cards, and carpets lack major damage and even the OEM mats are on hand to protect against future soiling. Thats not to say the cabin is perfect as we wanted to note the volume adjustment on the radio is inoperable. On the positive side, everything else is in good working order and we even have the maintenance booklets still on hand from Japan!

The familiar 3RZ-FE powering this Surf is fresh off an oil and filter service. It churns over care of a new 12v battery that will last for a few more years to come. To give the 2.7L a bit of a refresh, one of our trained techs replaced the fuel filter and engine air filter with new units. The four-banger idles with confidence thanks to new spark plugs and wires, and a new distributor cap and rotor have been taken care of, too. A few pesky oil leaks were attended to as well, including replacements of the distributor o-ring and valve cover gasket. We also attended to the oil pump, which has been resealed. The dual overhead cam mill is linked to a smooth-shifting automatic gearbox that makes good use of its power. The driver can select between 2WD and 4WD depending on what the outside conditions dictate. If a beach outing is in order or a blasting of snow has come through, a low-range 4WD setting can be engaged by moving the transfercase shifter forward. The suspension offers tons of ground clearance and is predictable and connected. The power steering is light yet on point and has been rehabbed with new steering bushings. The standard ABS brakes clamp down hard when asked to, and are shod with new pads and rotors on the front axle. New 31" Falken all-terrain tires sit mounted and balanced at all four corners. The new rubber looks mean and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come, providing all the grip needed in all four seasons.
