Stock #6316While it shared a frame and engine with our domestic V6 4Runners, this J95 Land Cruiser Prado is indeed a more upmarket design. It's wider, smoother, and features more distinct styling. This 1996 is a special rig, set off by OEM rainguards, an OEM bash bar, and gunmetal refinished Hilux Surf alloy wheels. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the Stellar Blue over Gray Metallic (K14) paint is in good nick, and this eight-seater is fresh off a recent service. Offered with a mere 97k verified and documented miles on the clock, the 4WD SUV is barely broken in. Reliable, capable, and unique, this Japanese Classic is perfect for outings at the beach, daily driving, and running errands with the family in tow.The cabin is spacious, nicely appointed, and in above-average condition. The tall ride height and low beltline lend themselves to premium outward visibility for safe driving in traffic. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and dual front SRS airbags are standard. A large field monitor is mounted front and center displaying info about the outside conditions to those within the cockpit. The OEM audio is functional and close by, and the center stack also includes controls for the digital climate system. The A/C blows cold for these remaining dog days of summer, and piping hot heat is on standby for later this year. If you prefer natural ventilation an OEM optional sunroof can be unfurled and the rear side glass manually pops out. The seats are in above average shape, lacking any major rips, stains, or tears. The middle row can tumble forward to create a large cargo area and the optional rear jump seats can stow up on the D-pillar. Keyless entry, power locks, power-folding mirrors, and power windows all work in typical Toyota fashion, making daily use more enjoyable. The headliner, carpets, and door cards are in good nick too, and overall, this is one of the nicest 90 series cabins we have seen in a while! The body-on-frame construction is ideal for longevity and the engine is nearly bulletproof as well. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 5VZ-FE churns to life care of a new 12v battery. A new engine air filter helps the quad-cam breathe freely while a new set of spark plugs assist with proper fuel ignition. To keep the V6 full of lubricant one of our trained techs replaced the old valve cover gaskets with new ones. The cam plugs and half-moon seals were taken care of while we were in there for some added peace of mind. The 3.4L is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. It shifts properly and is geared for peppy in-town driving while still turning low RPM's on the highway. The Full-Time 4WD system delivers loads of grip and a center locker with low range can be deployed using the twin-stick. We replaced the transfer case front output seals to shore up the driveline. The suspension was rehabbed with new rear upper and lower control arms. The overall ride is soft yet predictable, and the VZJ95 gobbles up potholes large and small. The ABS brakes feel confident and grip is handled by new 31" Falkens mounted and balanced at each corner. The all-terrain design looks mean, and the rubber will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. Turn-key and ready to rock, this Land Cruiser is an incredible overall value and does just about everything well!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
