Exterior Overview
For all the praise the Nissan Skyline receives, models like this 1996 GT-S sometimes fly under the radar. Not everyone needs a race car, and this manual, rear drive coupe is an ideal candidate for a daily driver. Frugal and reliable, this White Pearl (QM1) example includes plenty of power amenities, a spacious cabin, and updated angular styling to highlight the classic proportions. It’s also in above average condition for a vehicle that’s almost three decades old. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs the paint is in good nick and a subtle factory rear spoiler adorns this Series 2. Fresh off a recent service, this HR33 is offered with a mere 65k verified and documented miles on the ticker. Balanced driving dynamics and the ability to wring out the RB make for a tasty combination, and this sporty and practical Japanese Classic is turn-key, ready to rock, and won’t break the bank!

Interior Overview
The R33 was a big step up from the R32 it replaced. The cabin features more premium materials and loads more space. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and dual SRS airbags add some peace of mind for those up front. The center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. The digital climate control fills the cabin with piping hot heat or cool air conditioning depending on your preference. Below a Pioneer radio upgrade powers the speakers adding a soundtrack to your drive, The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column to find the ideal driving position. Power windows, locks, and mirrors all work in typical Nissan fashion and make daily driving more enjoyable. The blue cloth seats are supportive and lack any major rips stains or tears. The door cards are in good shape and the headliner and carpets have withstood the past twenty-five years without sustaining major abuse. Aside from the nonfunctional power folding feature on the passenger mirror, and two tiny holes from a nav mount on the dash, the cabin leaves little to be desired. Even the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this little Skyline.

Mechanical Overview
The Skyline is sporty yes, but it’s also refined. The long wheelbase distributes road imperfections well and the naturally aspirated RB20E is quick to respond, and is inherently low vibration. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.0L springs to life care of a new 12v battery. A new fuel filter and engine air filter work to maximize power output, and the RB is linked to a five speed manual gearbox. It’s communicative, and the gearbox lacks any hitches or grinds. Torque is fed to the rear wheels and this R33 gets up to speed pretty quickly. The ABS brakes are reflexive and this Skyline slows down promptly when called upon. The suspension has been refreshed with a set of new front caster arms. The power steering is direct and on point, an the new all-season tires have been freshly aligned to maximize their life. Rewarding to drive and easy to service, this special Skyline deserves a closer look!
