Stock #5913In the realm of Japanese SUV's, it's not all that uncommon to see hordes of Nissan's PR50 platform plodding around stateside highways. Granted, you may know the chassis better as the Pathfinder, but our 1997 Terrano is still the same dependable rig you've come to know and love over the years. Boasting just 87k verified/documented miles, this one is in above-average shape and is finished in a striking Blue Pearl Metallic (BP3). Showing no major defects outside of a few minor scuffs, scratches, and dings the exterior shows well for its age. The angular, muscular styling is accentuated by a 2" lift, OEM rainguards, a JAOS front brushguard , IPF driving lamps, and a slick set of 16" refinished WEDS Keeler alloys wrapped in new all-terrain rubber. Underpinned by sturdy 4WD, a turbodiesel drivetrain, and equipped with the same simple-to-service chassis as our stateside variants, this terrific Terrano is a real-deal Japanese Classic no matter which way you look at it!Interior-wise, this Terrano stacks up nicely to our more popular Toyota and Mitsubishi SUV offerings. It rivals in comfort and accessibility and still features a slew of power amenities beneficial for anyone looking to pilot this one around for daily use. For those curious, power windows, power-folding mirrors, and door locks work as advertised. Aiding your day-to-day, OEM audio works like a charm and the sound quality is better than you'd expect. Adjacent to the audio, a factory automatic climate control system works as advertised and pumps out cold A/C as we trudge into the depths of summer. Additionally, hot heat is available if you choose to traverse this 4x4 through the frozen tundra. Although we must note the tachometer no longer reads accurately, all the other gauges function as they should and are clear and easy to read. The seats are trimmed in a durable grey cloth, with textured highlights. The upholstery was clearly cared for in a prior life, as the seating surfaces lack any major rips, stains, or other defects. The headliner is taut against the roof and the carpet below isn't too worse for wear either. The only visible damage to the cockpit appears atop the passenger glovebox area where some typical UV distortion is present. Rear passengers get ample head and legroom, and the rear seats can fold forward if extra cargo space is needed in the trunk. Overall, this cockpit should handle just about anything you throw at it. The glass hatch can be raised independently of the rear tailgate adding to the accessibility of the cargo area. Pickier pilots may need to see past a nonoperational field monitor, but that's a minor thing for a vehicle of this age. While the 2.7 turbodiesel under the bonnet wasn't made available to stateside buyers, it was offered in droves to foreign markets, allowing parts and service information to be relatively abundant. Fortunately, we have taken care of the initial service on this one and it should be primed and ready for turn-key fun right off the bat. A new 12v battery aids ignition, and idling is smooth and confident, with a new fuel filter keeping the diesel clean and contaminant free. A fresh oil and filter service was performed so you'll be covered for the next 5,000 kilometers, and this one jets up to highway speeds without breaking a sweat. Acceleration isn't this model's strong suit but it can manage sustained highway speeds here in the US. A new CV axle installed at the front right helps put the power down to the wheels easily, and new swaybar end links on the front and rear aid in stabilization. 4WD can be rapidly engaged via a selective transfer case, with a center locking differential and low gearing at the ready should you become entrenched in some unsavory terrain. The power steering is on point and new boots were installed to keep its operation reliable. The brakes do a swell job at halting this body-on-frame beast and best of all we've wrapped the alloys in fresh Falken A/T rubber and performed a four-wheel alignment so you'll be knee-deep in grip when it's needed most!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
