These classic FZJ80s have quite the global following and it's for many good reasons. The refined and durable powerplant, spacious cabin, determined four-wheel drive, and handsome looks are only a few of the attributes we can tout. This center-locked beast is finished in a fresh coat of Lunar Rock (6X3) and is set off by OEM rainguards, refinished factory Surf wheels, and an OEM front winch. Aside from a few light dings and imperfections, the paint is in good shape and this sizable rig is fresh off a recent service. Offered with a mere 124k verified and documented miles, this turn key hauler would make for a fun overlander, trustworthy daily driver, or cool weekend escape vehicle. Collectible, capable, convenient to service, and boasting a low cost of ownership, this Japanese Classic is an all around great performer!

The cabin is spacious, nicely optioned, and appears to have been cared for in Japan. This VX Limited includes some cool optional factory equipment which pays dividends for those who plan to daily drive. Items like functional cruise control, heated front seats and a retractable power sunroof are examples of this high level of spec. The driver benefits also from a tilt-adjustable steering column to find the ideal driving position. The view of the road ahead is clear and this tall truck delivers decent outward visibility. Normally prone to cracking this dashboard seems to have escaped the wear we typically see. Located by the map light is the OEM field monitor which includes compass and altimeter to keep the driver abreast of the outside conditions. Shoulder room and headroom are expansive, and thefactory optional CoolBox center console can be turned on to keep your libations cold on a road trip. Dual zone heating and cooling makes those within the confines of the cabin comfortable although we did want to note the dash vents are a bit loose. The seats lack any major rips, stains or tears and are bolstered nicely for longer jaunts in the Cruiser. The middle row can fold forward to form a more expansive cargo area. Power windows, locks, and mirrors work as they should, other than the power folding function of the side mirrors. The headliner, door cards, and carpets have withstood the past twenty five years without sustaining major damage. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as we did want to note the audio is inoperable and there is some wear on the gear lever and steering wheel. Still, at this age the interior condition is quite impressive and we think the next owner will surely agree. 

The driveline is as good as gold, and the 1FZ-FE is known to go for a half million miles and then some. The 4.5L churns over care of a new 12v battery and is fresh off an oil and filter service. To hold a steady charge one of our trained techs replaced the old alternator with a new one. The engine idles with confidence thanks to a new fuel pump and a new engine air filter keeps unwanted contaminants out of the silky smooth inline six. The 4.5L mill is mated to a slick shifting automatic gearbox and full time 4WD. If an off road excursion is in order the pilot can engage a center locker and low 4WD to keep momentum moving forward. Acceleration is adequate and sustained highway speeds are not an issue for this lovable Landy. The brakes feel confident and the power steering is light and on point. The refinished OEM Surf wheels are wrapped in 35" Falken all terrain rubber. Not only do they look mean but they will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. A fresh alignment completes the package and will ensure long tire life for the new owner!
