Stock #5663At the time, Subaru's Legacy twin turbo set the standard for what a Japanese touring wagon should be. Spacious, stylish, and quick enough to silently take down most other vehicles on the road, these twin-turbo Legacies were strictly business estates that could go anywhere with their standard symmetrical AWD. Our 1996 factory Bilstein-equipped GT-B model boasts only 72k verified and documented miles, and quite a few options and upgrades that were never offered for sale to the stateside market. The exterior is finished in Aspen White (51E) and has held up quite well over the years, save for some expected scuffs, dings, and chips in the paint. These early Legacies were no stranger to factory options, and an OEM rear spoiler, mudguards, rainguards, and factory graphics provide the subtle accents needed to make this touring wagon stand out from other commuters in the crowd. Fresh off a recent service, this stylish estate is turn-key, ready to rip. Comfortable, efficient, and extraordinarily capable, the second-generation Legacy is a Japanese Classic that always seems to get the job done.In the cabin, the factory materials have held up quite nicely and are a clear sign this vehicle was cared for in its prior life. The factory seats are trimmed in a soft and supple patterned cloth, with suede accents. Aside from some age-related bolster wear on the driver's seat, there's not much to complain about upholstery wise, and the rest of the materials show well from the rear bench to the door cards. The dash is clean, in terrific shape, and even houses dual SRS airbags, a must for safety conscious pilots and passengers. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column, and a factory MOMO steering wheel feels great in one's palms, showing some light fading from its past 25 years of use on the road. It also boasts an SRS airbag for some added peace of mind. The lower, faux wood dash trim is in equally good nick and houses a fully functional digital automatic climate control unit, ripe with cold A/C and hot heat, and the factory audio beneath works well, to boot. As you'd expect from a touring vehicle, a handful of power options are on hand to make the daily driving experience a bit easier. Power windows, electric folding side mirrors, power locks, and dual moonroofs even unfurl at the push of a button to allow more natural ventilation to access both the front and rear passengers. We also wanted to mention the side mirrors are heated! The rear bench is versatile, folding completely flat to accommodate extra storage space in the rear if possible, and a factory option dual cargo net is a neat little gadget to help store your goods in the boot as well. We've even retained the OEM carpet mats to protect the carpets against any future abuse.Under the hood, the EJ20H powerplant delivers plenty of on-demand horsepower while sharing most of the serviceability of domestic WRX models! The motor fires up promptly with the twist of a key, care of a new 12v battery, and emits a smooth and reserved burble at idle. Our trained technicians have completed a healthy amount of maintenance on this Legacy to get her ready for daily duty. A new fuel pump and filter ensure you won't encounter any pesky old-car related fueling issues any time soon, and new spark plugs across the board help eliminate any ignition gremlins. Oil leaks are nothing to be concerned about, as this one received a new rear main seal, and oil separator plate. Our standard oil and filter service was performed, as well. She now runs right as rain and doesn't sweat a drop, easily rocketing to highway speeds when needed. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and is a perfect match for this touring wagon, and a new front axle seal gets the drivetrain in check for the road ahead. The factory Bilstein suspension glides over bumps with ease, and is plenty compliant during spirited driving. While all the aforementioned maintenance is great news for anyone looking for a daily driver, the icing on the cake is really the four new Falken tires. Coupled with a fresh alignment, they'll deliver plenty of grip and track straight for tens of thousands of miles to come!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
