In our opinion, the 90 Series Toyota Prado may be one of the most underrated four-wheel drives in our portfolio. Offered at an affordable price point, these Land Cruisers deliver exemplary off-road performance, sleek styling, and Toyota’s legendary reliability. This 1996 Land Cruiser Prado TZ, offered with a mere 135k verified and documented miles, is finished in Jewel Green over Gray two-tone (K12). The body is in good shape aside from some dings, chips, scuffs, and minor clear coat fading, the worst of which is a light clear coat fade on the hood. The 17-inch alloy wheels, 3-inch Rancho lift kit, and OEM rain guards add an aggressive look to the exterior of this eye-catching rig. With this petrol-powered 5VZ-FE V6 this Prado’s parts are easily accessible and this rig has been recently serviced here at our facility. For those looking for an SUV that is capable, spacious, and fun to drive this Land Cruiser is going to fit the bill. As a daily driver, weekend warrior, or family hauler this Prado is a certified Japanese Classic and ready for anything you can throw at it.

Once inside, the interior is spacious and modern. Electric windows, power locks, power sunroof, and electric folding mirrors all work properly and make daily use enjoyable. The dashboard and door cards are in good condition only showing minor nicks and scuffs. The dual front SRS airbags add peace of mind for both the driver and passenger. A fully functioning automatic front and rear climate control is on hand and supplies proper heat and A/C to the cabin on demand. Equipped with third-row seats this Land Cruiser comfortably seats eight. All three rows of the gray cloth trimmed seats are in excellent condition lacking any major rips, stains, or tears. The second row can fold nearly flat along with the third row folding away into the C-pillars, adding for plenty of room for hauling large items. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as the audio system has been removed, the tachometer functions intermittently, the field monitor screen has UV damage, and the carpets note some light staining. We also wanted to note some light damage to the drivers door card. On the positive side, the headliner looks to be in great shape, and factory carpeted floor mats are included with the sale. It's obvious this car was cared for in a prior life and we think it would make for a unique and serviceable daily driver for all seasons.

Under the hood lies a smooth and confident 3.4L V6. After arriving stateside our trained technicians installed brand new accessory belts, and an engine air filter. Keeping the engine sealed properly is a new valve cover gasket, that was installed along with a fresh engine oil and filter service. The engine fires up promptly, with the turn of a key, thanks to the new 12V battery. The recently serviced engine is mated to a precise shifting automatic transmission providing optimal gearing for commuting and performs well on the highway. The suspension is firm and provides ample ground clearance on and off the tarmac. The 4WD system works seamlessly and even includes a locking center differential and low gearing whenever you find yourself in a pickle. Behind the wheel the brakes feel firm, and the power-assisted steering is smooth and precise. The newly mounted and balance Falken all-terrain tires reduce road noise while cruising and will perform well while having fun off-road. Not to be slept on, this Land Cruiser 90 series is just as reliable and capable as the iconic Prados that came before it.
