Stock #6239The CR-V was America's first love when it came to the crossover segment, and it's safe to say when it debuted we never imagined they would get this cool! Our JDM 1996 example is chock full of neat OEM optional equipment, is backed by a durable drivetrain, and is offered with a mere 78k verified and documented miles on the clock. Finished in Supermarine Blue Pearl (B84P), the exterior is set off by front and rear bug deflectors, OEM nerf bars, rainguards, and custom graphics. A 2" lift provides ample ground clearance and fender flares were installed to accommodate the larger tire size. Thule crossbars, a rad spare tire cover, and privacy tint complete the aesthetics and this retro hauler looks dashing aside from a few slight paint imperfections. Clearly loved in a prior life, and ripe and ready for the next chapter, this CR-V is a Japanese Classic for the ages! The cabin is spacious and full of storage options and flexible seating. Honda thought of it all, and when designing this interior added some surprising features. Dual SRS airbags were optional and are equipped on this RD-1. They also included plenty of power amenities including power mirrors, locks, and windows. These items all work as they should, and the driver even gains a tilt-adjustable steering column. The center stack includes a simple-to-use automatic climate system, with cold A/C and hot heat on rapid standby. For the remaining first mornings left this year, you can heat up the cabin with a remote start setup. Integrating retro innovation with modern amenities, a CarPlay head unit upgrade supplies the tunes up front and your rear passengers can let the nostalgia sink in with an integrated PlayStation 2. The passenger and driver both have access to a stowable tray that easily allows back-seat access during longer road trips. The gray cloth upholstery is in great shape and lacks any major imperfections such as rips, stains, or tears. The material is soft to the touch and peppered with green and purple accents up close. The rear seats recline and the front seats can be used in conjunction to create dual sleeping surfaces if you're looking to catch some Z's without renting a hotel. The door cards, carpet, and headliner are in above-average shape and it's obvious this car was cared for in Japan. Keen enthusiasts know the CR-V is a utility champ and an integrated picnic table can be deployed from the trunk floor if you need to dine on the road. Unfortunately, these don't come with the kitchen sink, you'd have to buy a Land Cruiser for that!Powered by Honda's stout B20B, the drivetrain is virtually identical to our stateside models. Simple to service, and fresh off a comprehensive once-over by our trained technicians, this CR-V is truly turn-key ready. A fresh oil and filter service keeps your lubrication up to date and this 2.0 cruises to highway speeds without issue. An automatic gearbox throws power to all four wheels, and shifts are smooth and leave little to be desired. The Old Man Emu suspension is the star of the show. It soars over road imperfections large and small and the KYB struts feel healthy too. For a bit of drivetrain rehab, we replaced a front left upper and lower control arm and both outer tie rods. This CRV steers and stops as you'd expect and the ABS brakes bite down hard when called upon. The All Terrain tires look menacing tucked into the wheel arches. They're also brand spanking new, and we performed a fresh alignment to get this lifted beast straight for the road ahead!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
