The N185 provides a simple, safe, and comfortable cabin for five adults to enjoy. If you have a furry friend they will also love the power rear glass, that rolls down so that any drool can be sent rearward. The front occupants benefit from dual SRS airbags and a simple dash layout. The dashboard lacks any cracking or age-related distortion, although a prior repair seems to have been performed around the passenger airbag area. Automatic climate control is standard and the air conditioning blows cold for the summer ahead. If you prefer natural ventilation, power windows are standard and work like a charm alongside the electric locks and power mirrors. The upholstery is in good shape and lacks any major rips and tears, although the driver's bucket has succumbed to some light staining over the years and does not recline. The durable Moon Mist-colored cloth is also mirrored in the door cards. The headliner is in good shape and the carpets have resisted major wear and tear over the years. The biggest flaws are that the factory head unit has given up the ghost and that the center console has a divot from someone resting their elbow. The hearty 3RZ-FE powers this truck and is fresh off an oil and filter service. To keep the four-banger properly lubricated a new oil filter housing gasket was taken care of. The 2693cc mill turns over quickly, care of a new 12v battery and runs seamlessly thanks to a new fuel filter and an engine air filter. The 2.7 feels peppy around town and offers all the grunt needed to get up to highway merging speeds without breaking a sweat. The 3RZ is linked to a smooth shifting automatic and the selective transfercase allows the pilot to select between 2WD and 4WD on the fly. If you happen to hit a sandy beach or soggy trail, 4 Low is easy to engage. If you need to slow down, standard ABS brakes can come in handy. To reduce stopping distances one of our trained techs has installed new brake pads and rotors on the front. The suspension is predictable and loads of ground clearance makes on and off-road travel a cinch. The power steering is light and makes this midsize SUV easy to park in the tight confines of the city. The factory wheels have been refinished in a matte gray to set off the deep blue exterior hue. New 31" Falkens are mounted at all four corners. They look mean and most importantly will provide tens of thousands of miles of year-round grip for a long time to come.
