Compared to the Y32 before it, Nissan's Y33 represented a stepping stone for the brand's more premium offerings in the late 90's. Our 1995 Gloria is a great example, sporting only 43k verified/documented miles on the clock from new and a few choice factory upgrades to boot. Finished in Arctic White Pearl (QN0), the exterior looks the part for a luxury vehicle, and save for some dents and dings along the lower body trim the visual appeal is on par with what you'd expect from a classic sedan. The refinished factory alloys look great and do a lot to modernize the exterior as well. Fresh off a recent service, this comfortable and reliable Gloria is a great option for anyone looking for a plush new daily driver, and is a definitive Japanese Classic.
The Y33's cockpit also saw a massive improvement over the prior generation. Perfectly appointed for daily use, this Gloria boasts premium materials inside and enough power amenities to satisfy anyone in the driver's seat. The grey executive cloth upholstery is soft to the touch, as we often commend these interiors for standing up to age related wear and tear quite well. Even the soft touch black vinyl dash is no worse for the wear and has resisted any serious sun damage and miscellaneous wear over the years. Dual SRS airbags are at the ready for some added peace of mind behind the wheel, and the driver benefits from power seat adjustability, lumbar adjustment, and a tilt adjustable steering column to dial in the driving position a bit better. The lower dash trim is finished in a complementary faux woodgrain and houses an intuitive digital automatic climate control unit. For the summer months ahead, cold A/C works like a charm, with hot heat on the ready should you choose to pilot this one year round. OEM audio is also fully functional, although you may want to load up on cassette tapes as the unit does not work on our US frequencies. The sound quality is crisp and clear and leaves little to be desired even in factory form. Power windows, door locks, and power folding mirrors work as advertised and work in tandem to make daily use a bit easier for all. The remaining materials show well, from the headliner to the door cards, and the rear bench offers up ample space for three additional passengers in the rear if you need to put this transporter to the test. Overall, this cabin is a swell place to be, shows almost no physical defects, aside from an inoperable radio screen, and it's clear this one was cared for well in a prior life.
Further cementing the Y chassis as a formidable candidate for daily use, the VQ30DE under the bonnet is a great pairing for the chassis, delivering reliable power and sharing numerous parts with models offered stateside for a seamless servicing experience. Our trained technicians have taken care of the initial check-in, and this one cranks over swiftly care of a new 12v battery. Idling is smooth, thanks to a new engine air filter and fuel filter, and a fresh oil and filter service ensures this VG stays well lubricated during operation. To protect this one against any unwanted leaks or seeps, we've replaced the rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, and lower oil pan gasket. With the maintenance performed this one scoots up to highway speeds surprisingly fast, and the automatic gearbox does a fine job at transferring the power smoothly to the pavement. To keep the drivetrain in compliance, new struts were installed in the rear and this one gobbles up road imperfections with ease. The power steering is light and direct, the ABS brakes bite confidently, and new Falken tires on all four corners should deliver plenty of grip for tens of thousands of miles to come!
